Description

You will take ownership of the company’s data flow—from source systems through an engineered data warehouse—helping design the target system architecture and implement near‑real‑time transfers. The role includes mapping data sources, building CDC-driven ingestion (Debezium), transforming and validating data into raw, cleaned, and business/semantic layers, and supporting reporting and analytics use cases.

Responsibilities

  • Map and manage data sources (operational SQL databases, MongoDB, external APIs, platforms)
  • Design, deploy, and operate near‑real‑time data transfers using Debezium (CDC from transactional logs)
  • Build data warehouse layers on SQL Server (raw → cleaned → business/semantic model)
  • Implement ETL/ELT transformations, data cleaning/validation, and schema change solutions
  • Orchestrate and monitor data pipelines with alerting
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and traceability (data lineage, documentation)
  • Prepare data for reporting, analytics, and a data cube; collaborate with business users
  • Follow data security and protection requirements (GDPR, access rights) in a regulated environment

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Data Engineer, BI/DWH Developer, or similar
  • Excellent SQL (T-SQL), data model design, and performance optimization
  • Experience building DWH with dimensional modeling, SCD, and incremental loading
  • Practical CDC experience, ideally Debezium (or similar tools)
  • Python or another scripting language for automation
  • Basic knowledge of Docker, Linux, Git, and CI/CD principles
  • Independence, attention to detail, and strong sense of data quality
  • Czech at an excellent level; English for technical documentation

Benefits

  • Work on key systems of the financial group
  • Support from experienced colleagues and room for professional growth
  • Friendly IT team culture where people help each other
  • Fair fixed compensation with semiannual bonuses
  • 20 vacation days + sick days
  • Meal allowance and workplace refreshments
  • Phone benefits (move your number with unlimited calling and data)
  • Company events and team building
  • Shorter work week (Fridays until 15:00)
  • Benefit card with flexible benefits
