Description

Responsible for the stable and secure operation of central server and datacenter systems and platforms, including virtualization, file and storage services, and key infrastructure services. You will operate and further develop virtualization platforms, plan and carry out data migrations, and manage backup and restore processes (including services around Microsoft SQL Server). You will also evaluate and implement new infrastructure technologies and take responsibility in IT infrastructure projects, with prioritized VIP support during service hours.

Responsibilities

• Take technical responsibility for central systems and platforms of the server and datacenter infrastructure and ensure stable, secure operations
• Operate and further develop virtualization platforms; support technological changes and migrations
• Own central file and storage services, including file clusters, DFS and storage structures, and plan and execute data migrations
• Support core infrastructure services, especially Microsoft SQL Server and backup/restore procedures
• Evaluate and implement new infrastructure technologies; lead selected IT infrastructure projects and provide prioritized VIP support for selected user groups during assigned service hours

Requirements

• Completed university degree (Bachelor/Diploma or comparable) in a STEM program, preferably with an IT focus, or equivalent qualification with relevant professional experience
• In-depth knowledge of Windows Server infrastructures and server virtualization, ideally with VMware and/or Proxmox
• Good knowledge of file services, storage, DFS as well as backup and restore procedures
• Solid understanding of complex IT infrastructures and how they work together with network and IT security components
• Independent, structured, solution-oriented way of working plus strong service and responsibility awareness
