Description

The Senior Data Scientist will help describe and measure how people use Microsoft Copilot by developing usage and quality metrics, new instrumentation and measurement approaches, and experimentation to evaluate feature performance. The role drives product insights and opportunity analysis using statistical analysis, machine learning, experiments, data mining, and data storytelling.

Responsibilities

• Develop metrics for Copilot usage and quality

• Drive product insights, opportunity analysis, and track metrics to support Microsoft Copilot efforts

• Design new ways of instrumentation and measurement to evaluate new feature performance

• Enable A/B experimentation for new features

• Conduct hands-on analysis of large volumes of telemetry data using algorithms and tools

• Articulate insights, storyboard with data, and communicate to influence leadership and key decision makers

• Deliver improvements quickly and iteratively despite roadblocks

• Work effectively in a fast-paced, design-driven product development cycle

Requirements

• Doctorate in a relevant field with 1+ years of data-science experience, or Master’s with 3+ years, or Bachelor’s with 5+ years (or equivalent experience)

• Experience managing structured and unstructured data and applying statistical techniques to report results

• Ability to meet Microsoft security screening requirements, including passing the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years

Benefits

• U.S. base pay range: USD $119,800 – $234,700 per year

• SF Bay Area & NYC metro base pay range: USD $160,200 – $261,000 per year

• Eligible for benefits and other compensation (details provided by employer)
