Description

You will lead and deliver a coherent end-to-end testing solution for the CREST transformation programme, working within Scrum teams. The migration moves from legacy to event-based services, using Kafka/Event Hub integration, and requires both functional and non-functional testing. You will define test strategies, manage defects and risks, and build manual and automated test scenarios.

Responsibilities

• Work in an Agile team to deliver migration of legacy applications to an event-based and service-oriented architecture

• Deliver and lead an end-to-end testing solution covering functional and non-functional requirements

• Establish estimation principles for migration phases and propose optimal test approaches

• Write and present the Test Strategy; propose alternate approaches when needed

• Peer review test scenarios and test cases; execute scenarios and cases

• Manage defects effectively, challenge other teams, and perform required analysis

• Review team deliverables for completeness, suitability, and accuracy; contribute to reporting

• Identify and escalate risks/issues and propose mitigation actions

• Facilitate discussions to extract information, devise test approach, and mitigate risks/issues

Requirements

• ISEB/ISTQB Foundation Certificate in Software Testing

• Strong analytical skills to extract and analyze relevant information from documentation, system data, and stakeholders

• Ability to derive manual and automated test scenarios and cases from gathered information, documented to standards with traceability

• Hands-on Object-Oriented Design and Java programming experience

• Automation experience using Cucumber, Java, and ADS

• Analytical and systems design/development skills for distributed, multi-platform solutions

• Experience implementing Event Hub technology, especially Kafka and Kafka Streams

• Database design skills (e.g., Oracle) and strength in implementing Java with SQL query work

• Strong experience working in Agile environments with knowledge of BDD and TDD

• Experience implementing Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery pipelines using ADS

• Understanding and experience of risk-based testing

• Lead testing and define Test Strategy; present approaches to key stakeholders

• Excellent defect management and peer review of test cases
