Description

Lead the development and maintenance of Apache Airflow workflows. You will create and improve Airflow components (Operators, Hooks, Sensors), integrate new Airflow versions with Cloud Composer, and increase reliability by fixing bugs, adding improvements, and implementing tests. You will also coordinate development activities, produce internal documentation, and support the team through knowledge sharing and code reviews.

Responsibilities

• Develop new and maintain existing Airflow Operators, Hooks, and Sensors
• Integrate new Airflow versions with Cloud Composer
• Fix bugs in Airflow and implement improvements
• Implement tests for Airflow (unit and solution testing)
• Create internal documentation for work artifacts
• Coordinate team development activities and support delivery planning
• Collaborate with cross-functional and distributed teams to resolve technical issues
• Support junior engineers via knowledge sharing, technical guidance, and code review
• Participate in technical discussions, prioritization, and coordination of development activities

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience with strong Python programming
• Experience with Cloud APIs (REST/RPC)
• DevOps/SysAdmin practices knowledge, Linux, and Kubernetes (including building container images)
• Understanding of cloud platforms, especially Google Cloud Platform
• Expertise in Apache Airflow or experience building workflows using Luigi, Oozie, Argo, Azkaban, or Apache NiFi
• Experience working with open-source communities
• Proficiency in English (spoken and written)
