On October 14 we hosted the ConTech Executive Round Table with Anna Grebenchtchikova, a quant hedge fund analyst, and Tom Wisemiller, CEO of the Northwest Alabama Economic Development Alliance, moderated by Chris Parjaszewski, CEO of MindPal. The discussion centered on energy infrastructure as the main limit to manufacturing growth, and on how data centers are changing where plants get built. On AI, the panel’s advice was to start in the back office with a human controlling function and to train people to spot when the technology is wrong. The conversation also covered how public incentives are shifting to favor large investments that need fewer jobs.
