Description

Design and build AI-ready data ingestion, transformation, and data quality solutions across diverse source systems. Use Python and Spark/Databricks with cloud services to implement business logic, validate data, and enable efficient data retrieval and dashboards. Participate in agentic AI adoption and troubleshoot and upgrade data platforms.

Responsibilities

• Implement data ingestion from diverse sources (RDBMS, REST HTTP APIs, flat files, streams, time series, SAP Research)
• Process and transform data using Spark, Databricks, and cloud services
• Implement agentic development environments as part of AI adoption
• Execute project-specific business logic supported by the primary data platform
• Optimize data retrieval, build dashboards, and perform data validation
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and IT professionals
• Provide thought leadership on data software engineering best practices and technology trends
• Maintain integrity and security of data sources and platforms
• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade data systems and applications

Requirements

• 4+ years of software development with data software engineering
• Advanced Python knowledge
• Proficiency with Spark and Databricks
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
• Confidence using AI development tools (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor)
• Strong understanding of JSON, Parquet, and Avro data file formats
• Hands-on SQL and NoSQL databases, including Cassandra and MongoDB
• Proficiency with data warehousing solutions and ETL processes
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related technical field
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of software development methodologies and best practices
• Excellent English communication (B2+)
