Description

You will develop software that enables remote operation and automation of electron microscopes, including orchestration of inspection tasks and integration with customer automation systems (e.g., SECS/GEM). Work will include both real equipment and virtual/virtualized (VM) environments, with deployment and testing on the microscope or in a simulated setup. You’ll collaborate with teams in the Czech Republic and the USA and help onboard new team members.

Responsibilities

• Develop software for remote control and automation of an electron microscope

• Control a robotic sample-handling system

• Orchestrate automated inspection tasks

• Integrate with customer automation systems using standards such as SECS/GEM

• Work with real equipment and in a VM environment

• Deploy and test solutions directly on the microscope or in simulated environments

• Collaborate with existing development teams in the Czech Republic and the USA

• Onboard new team members (without direct management responsibility)

Requirements

• Experience with C# and .NET (Framework and Core)

• Interest in working at the intersection of software and hardware

• Motivation for continuous improvement, refactoring, and developing robust solutions

• Ability to communicate effectively in English in an international team

• Willingness to commute to the office in Brno at least 3x per week (after proper onboarding, more flexibility is possible)
