• Day shift, Monday–Friday: 8:00 AM–5:00 PM or 7:00 AM–4:00 PM.

Description

The Lab Tech 1 performs routine laboratory duties using established protocols and procedures under supervision. The role includes specimen sorting, labeling, setup for testing, and operation of assigned laboratory equipment, with specific duties varying by the assigned area.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine laboratory procedures where the range of possible errors is limited.
• Sort, label, and record patient specimens.
• Set up specimens, materials, and equipment in preparation for a Medical Technologist to perform tests.
• Operate a centrifuge, simplex timers, cell washer, and other laboratory equipment.
• Maintain appropriate inventory of laboratory supplies.
• Communicate effectively with laboratory personnel, other disciplines, and external customers.
• Participate in laboratory projects and educational activities.

Requirements

• Ability to travel to assigned locations.
• H.S. Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Less than 1 year of experience.
• Ability to comprehend and communicate instructions.
• Skill in using computers and related software applications.
• Knowledge of safety and infection control standards.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
