Description

Design, develop, test, and maintain non-connected C#/.NET tool control software for a high-precision optical metrology system. Improve reliability and maintainability by modularizing a mature, long-lived codebase without destabilizing production. Strengthen concurrent execution and automated testing (including hardware-backed tests), and troubleshoot issues across the software and hardware boundary.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain tool control software in C# and .NET

• Drive modularisation of a mature codebase

• Implement robust concurrent code (multi-threading, locking/interlocking, parallelism)

• Apply TDD and expand automated testing, including tests that interact with real hardware

• Conduct code reviews

• Mentor and coach mid-level developers

• Troubleshoot complex issues across the software and hardware boundary

Requirements

• 3+ years of hands-on senior-level experience with C# and .NET in production systems

• Background in hardware-related development (software controlling/driving/reading physical equipment)

• Knowledge of object-oriented design, SOLID, design patterns, and Clean Code

• Expertise in TDD and ownership of automated test suites

• Skills in multi-threading, locking/interlocking, and parallelism in .NET

• Experience refactoring and modularising a long-lived legacy codebase

• Familiarity with mentoring and conducting code reviews

• Ability to troubleshoot complex issues across software and hardware boundary

• English proficiency at B2 level or above
