• Schedule: Monday–Friday (rotating hours between 6:00am–8:00pm) plus rotating Saturdays; 40 hours/week with open availability

• Sites: Chicago, Niles, Skokie, Blue Island, Willowbrook, Woodridge, Westchester, IL

Description

As a Float Phlebotomist, you will perform blood collections across multiple locations, supporting specimens for testing and maintaining accurate patient and specimen records. The role includes administrative tasks, billing/payment processing, and strong patient customer service. You’ll gain varied experience working with different patients and clinic teams.

Responsibilities

• Collect blood samples using venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups

• Collect specimens for drug screens and other tests (e.g., paternity and alcohol tests)

• Enter patient information accurately and on time

• Process billing information and collect payments as necessary

• Prepare collected specimens for testing and analysis

• Maintain patient and specimen information logs

• Provide superior customer service to patients

• Perform administrative and clerical duties as needed

• Travel to additional sites as needed

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent

• Phlebotomy certification or completed training program or 3+ months experience as a phlebotomist

• If using training in lieu of experience, certification/training must come from an accredited agency

• Proven track record in exceptional customer service

• Strong communication skills (written and verbal)

• Ability to work independently and/or in a team environment

• Ability to work comfortably under minimal supervision

• Flexibility to work overtime as needed

• Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test

• Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record and reliable transportation

• Must be at least 21 years old

• Pay range: $17.50–$24.50 per hour

• Incentives: Float incentive of additional $2.00/hr plus mileage reimbursement
