Description

Own and deliver quarterly goals while leading engineers through ambiguity to solve open-ended fraud engineering problems. Design and implement real-time fraud decisioning services and APIs in Python or Kotlin, extending the Fraud Decisioning System into new international markets. Build repeatable platform tooling for faster, safer launches by integrating region-specific fraud/risk vendors and operationalizing AI/ML signals.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver team goals and guide engineers through ambiguous, open-ended work

  • Design and implement real-time fraud decisioning services and APIs

  • Build and evolve tooling to scale market launch setup with low friction

  • Integrate region-specific fraud and risk vendors

  • Operationalize machine learning/AI signals that power real-time decisioning

  • Collaborate with Product, Machine Learning, Analytics, and Fraud Strategy across the product development lifecycle

  • Support operations and availability via metrics, escalation, and on-call/keep-the-lights-on

  • Foster quality and ownership by setting/improving design standards and mentoring teammates

Requirements

  • 5+ years building backend systems at scale using Python or Kotlin

  • Distributed systems and infrastructure experience with AWS, MySQL/PostgreSQL, and Kubernetes

  • Strong system design skills and a track record delivering maintainable, extensible services

  • Fluency with AI-driven engineering (directing/orchestrating AI code generation and critically evaluating for correctness, quality, and security)

  • Proficiency with SQL in data-rich environments

  • Familiarity with CI/CD and safe production deployments

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for distributed teams

  • Proactive, ownership-driven mindset with a focus on learning and team success

Compensation

Base pay range: 308,000 zł – 428,000 zł per year (as provided). Equity grade: 4.
