Ophthalmologist (Locum Tenens)

Quick Facts

• 4 days per week — 8:00 am–4:30 pm (1-hour lunch)
• 40–50 patients per day
• Full-scope medical-surgical ophthalmology: clinic, surgery, and call
• Surgical volume: 7–8 cases on morning surgical blocks; two half OR days per week
• Call: 7 days per month on provider-selected days
• Required procedures: phaco w/ IOL, trabeculectomy, SLT, YAG, pterygium, and more
• New hire coverage; temp-to-perm opportunity available

Description

This locum tenens Ophthalmology role provides full-scope coverage across clinic and surgical services, including provider call duties. The facility is open to accommodating and potentially expanding the provider’s procedure scope.

Responsibilities

• Provide ophthalmology care in clinic and during surgical coverage
• Manage call coverage on provider-selected days
• Perform required ophthalmic procedures (including phaco w/ IOL, trabeculectomy, SLT, YAG, and pterygium)

Requirements

• Ability to provide full-scope medical-surgical ophthalmology coverage (clinic, surgery, call)
• Experience performing phaco with IOL
• Experience performing trabeculectomy
• Experience performing SLT
• Experience performing YAG laser
• Experience performing pterygium procedures (e.g., excision)
• Availability to work 4 days per week (8:00 am–4:30 pm) starting soon
• Willingness to take call 7 days per month on provider-selected days
