Description

Strong hands-on Databricks experience is mandatory, including designing and implementing enterprise-scale data engineering solutions.

Responsibilities focus on Databricks architecture, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, Workflows/Jobs, performance optimisation, and data governance, with the ability to assess existing implementations and propose Databricks-based improvements, accelerators, and best practices.

Provide technical recommendations across architecture, performance, scalability, cost optimisation, security, and governance, and lead technical design discussions with customer architects, engineering teams, and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement enterprise-scale data engineering solutions on Databricks
• Work on Databricks architecture and data governance using Unity Catalog
• Optimize performance and address scalability, cost, security, and governance
• Assess current implementations and propose improvements, accelerators, and best practices
• Run technical design and solution discussions with architects, engineering teams, and stakeholders

Requirements

• Strong hands-on Databricks experience
• Experience with designing and implementing enterprise-scale data engineering solutions
• Databricks architecture expertise
• Experience with Delta Lake
• Experience with Unity Catalog
• Experience with Workflows/Jobs
• Experience in performance optimisation
• Experience in data governance
• Ability to assess existing implementations and proactively propose improvements
• Technical recommendations across architecture, performance, scalability, cost, security, and governance
• Strong understanding of Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, and ETL/ELT concepts
• Strong SQL, databases, and data modelling skills
• Ability to perform technical design and solution discussions with customer architects, engineering teams, and business stakeholders
• Technical thought leadership; ability to challenge existing approaches and recommend better solutions
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
• Experience working directly with customers and senior stakeholders
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery environments
• Comfortable in fast-paced, high-pressure delivery environments; manage priorities while maintaining engineering quality
