Description

Leads the indirect functions necessary to execute a customer’s business at the site with management guidance. The CFT may include program management and functions such as SCM (planning and purchasing), engineering, and quality, and may include specialized manufacturing for the customer group. Ensures the CFT generates value for the customer with CLS, seeks to develop customer loyalty, and drives continuous improvement using lean and Six Sigma.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a Customer Focused team within a site.
  • Execute the customer business with guidance from a more senior manager.
  • Implement and may lead action plans to resolve customer issues.
  • Plan, manage, and control CFT performance by implementing direction, priorities, policies, and guidelines; evaluate results.
  • Advise on availability of resources, tools, equipment, and support to meet customer requirements; flag issues to site functional leads.
  • Monitor business execution using MOR and other metrics; report to site management and may present data to customers.
  • Report financial performance and ensure financial metrics (Pricing, service billing, ROIC A/R) outside contract requirements are identified and resolved through agreed actions.
  • Recommend and manage the CFT budget and financial forecast.
  • Work with sales/BD to establish customer prices for new business and quarterly pricing reviews.
  • Select employees, assign objectives, review performance, recommend compensation, coach, approve disciplinary actions, and reassign personnel as necessary.
  • Improve employee satisfaction within the CFT through planning and implementation.
  • Participate in and may lead cross-functional process improvement groups; support corporate or site-wide initiatives.

Requirements

  • Five to seven years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of production processes and the tools/equipment used in the process.
  • Understanding of the business unit and how decisions affect customer satisfaction, product quality, on-time delivery, and financial performance.
  • Ability to coordinate resources to meet operational, supply chain, and financial targets using CLS Project Management methodology where appropriate.
  • Good/developing skills in CLS competencies: Personal Attributes, Interpersonal; Business Technical and Leadership.
  • Ability to influence colleagues in specialist and corporate areas to achieve CFT requirements aligned with agreed schedules.
  • Ability to lead, manage, mentor, and motivate a diverse group to meet challenging targets under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to manage budgets, forecasts, and ensure contract financial metrics are met.
