Description

Design, build and operate Java-based backend services used across Lufthansa Group. Develop cloud-native microservices, REST APIs and event-driven integrations, taking ownership from solution design and implementation to deployment, monitoring and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build and operate Java-based backend services used across Lufthansa Group
  • Develop cloud-native microservices, REST APIs and event-driven integrations
  • Own the full software lifecycle: solution design, implementation, deployment, monitoring and continuous improvement
  • Work with Kubernetes, CI/CD, distributed messaging and modern DevOps practices
  • Use AI-assisted engineering tools and help explore new approaches to software development
  • Collaborate in cross-functional product teams

Requirements

  • 4+ years of professional Java development experience
  • Hands-on experience with microservices and distributed systems
  • Experience with REST APIs and event-driven architecture (e.g., Kafka)
  • Practical experience with containers, Kubernetes and CI/CD
  • Understanding of software architecture, clean code and engineering best practices
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code or similar)
  • Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills
  • Professional working proficiency in English (B2/C1)
  • Availability to work in a hybrid model – 2 days per week in the Gdańsk office
