Lead Mobile Engineer (React Native / Expo)

We are seeking an experienced Lead Mobile Engineer to drive the end-to-end development of a patient-facing mobile application for iOS and Android. This role focuses on building with React Native and Expo while integrating into an enterprise Microsoft/.NET ecosystem.

Location/Hours

Remote with working hours aligned to US time zones, with preference for overlap with Minneapolis / CST.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver cross-platform mobile applications using React Native, Expo (SDK 50+), TypeScript, and Expo Router.
• Implement OAuth 2.0 / OpenID Connect authentication flows with PKCE, JWT token management, and Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD).
• Design and execute secure session propagation between the mobile app and existing web applications integrated via WebViews.
• Configure and maintain push notification services using Azure Notification Hub, APNs, and Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM).
• Manage deep linking, navigation, app lifecycle, and secure local storage (e.g., Expo SecureStore).
• Set up and maintain automated build and delivery pipelines using EAS Build and EAS Submit.
• Oversee application publishing, release management, and store deployments via App Store Connect and Google Play Console.

Skills

• Extensive commercial experience with React Native, Expo (SDK 50+), and TypeScript across both iOS and Android platforms.
• Strong expertise in mobile authentication protocols including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, PKCE, JWT, and Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD).
• Hands-on experience with React Native WebView integrations, session management, and REST APIs.
• Practical experience configuring push notifications across Azure Notification Hub, APNs, and FCM.
• Proficiency with EAS Build, EAS Submit, and publishing to App Store Connect and Google Play Console.
• Solid understanding of mobile security and secure storage mechanisms (e.g., Expo SecureStore).
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently in a distributed team during US business hours.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Azure AD B2C / CIAM solutions and MSAL for mobile.
• Industry background in healthcare, regulated software, or patient-facing applications.
• Experience with hybrid architecture combining native apps with WebView-based solutions.
• Prior experience navigating enterprise authentication and identity management platforms.
