Senior Test Manager / Test Management Consultant

We are looking for an experienced Senior Test Manager / Test Management Consultant to support a client in the banking sector.

This is not a typical Test Manager role focused only on coordinating day-to-day testing activities. We are looking for someone who can enter the organization, assess the current testing approach, identify gaps and areas for improvement, and design a target testing model.

The project has a strong consulting and advisory focus.

Requirements

We are looking for someone with strong, hands-on experience in Test Management / QA Management who:

• Has broad knowledge of different testing strategies, levels, and methodologies
• Is familiar with the TMMi (Test Maturity Model Integration) framework
• Has experience creating or improving test strategies, testing processes, and test governance frameworks
• Can look at quality from an organizational and delivery perspective, not only at the level of a single team or project
• Has experience coordinating complex testing initiatives involving multiple teams and stakeholders
• Is comfortable working as a senior consultant, assessing the current state, challenging existing approaches, proposing improvements, and gaining stakeholder buy-in
• Has strong communication and workshop facilitation skills

Knowledge of topics covered by ISTQB Certified Tester Advanced Level – Test Management will be a strong advantage. The certification itself is not mandatory; practical knowledge and experience at this level are more important.

Experience within banking, financial services, or another large regulated organization will also be a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assess the client's current testing approach, processes, and practices
• Identify gaps, risks, and areas for improvement
• Define and recommend a target testing strategy and operating model
• Select appropriate testing levels, types, and approaches depending on the organizational context
• Coordinate testing activities and take ownership of test delivery
• Improve test planning, monitoring, reporting, and governance
• Recommend best practices related to risk-based testing, defect management, quality assurance, and test governance
• Work closely with technical teams, business stakeholders, and delivery management
• Translate findings and recommendations into clear, actionable improvements
• Prepare and facilitate workshops for client teams to ensure the proposed approach can be effectively adopted across the organization
