Description

As a software engineer on the Emergency Call Management site reliability engineering (ECM-SRE) team, you will work directly with product and engineering teams to continuously improve reliability across a suite of public safety products.

Responsibilities

  • Implement monitoring and observability objectives, including maintaining alert-response playbooks.
  • Create and reinforce high-availability and reliability strategy.
  • Triage customer-reported incidents and problems to the appropriate software team, using troubleshooting and problem-management skills.
  • Maintain and report on SLOs and error budgets.
  • Facilitate chaos engineering activities and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis with multiple engineering teams.
  • Develop SRE culture and share best practices across the Emergency Call Management organization.
  • Provide on-call support alongside multiple engineering teams for production products and services.
  • Focus on incident command to maintain direction during the incident process and meet regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Assist customer support teams with customer-facing communication documents.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of professional software development or SRE experience.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience developing cloud-based applications.
  • Experience developing REST-based APIs and implementing microservice principles and architectures.
  • Experience with modern DevOps tooling, including CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with high-availability architecture design, observability, monitoring, and automated testing.
  • Familiarity with network concepts and protocols, including OSI, SIP, HTTP, and WebSockets.
  • Creativity and persistence in solving complex problems.
  • Enthusiasm for learning technologies, architectures, processes, and best practices.
