Software Architect

We are seeking a seasoned Software Architect to own the technical vision and direction for a strategic cloud engineering group behind next-generation, cloud-native services. The role sets the architectural direction across three cross-functional teams and two production SaaS services: a low-code API management platform and a frontend application toolkit. You will drive platform architecture, product delivery, engineering leadership, and AI-assisted ways of working.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the group’s target architecture, domain boundaries, service responsibilities, and key integrations; serve as the final technical decision-maker.
• Lead feature-level architecture elaboration, including ADRs and design artifacts; own the technical roadmap and set non-functional requirements for performance, security, and observability.
• Architect APIs and data models for autonomous AI agents, including tool-callable interfaces and MCP protocols, and establish a semantic/context layer over enterprise PLM data.
• Establish evaluation and review gates for AI-generated architecture artifacts, prevent erroneous outputs, and track AI productivity and adoption metrics.
• Represent the group in architecture forums; partner with Cloud and DevSecOps teams; engage customers and partners to validate technical direction.
• Mentor Tech Leads and senior engineers to strengthen technical culture, decision quality, and architectural consistency across teams.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years as a Software Architect or Principal Engineer owning architecture across multiple teams.
• Deep expertise in cloud-native, multi-tenant SaaS on Microsoft Azure, including AKS, Azure Front Door, CosmosDB, and Terraform.
• Strong backend architecture skills in .NET and RESTful/OData APIs.
• Proven experience designing multi-region, highly available distributed systems with disaster-recovery requirements, Infrastructure-as-Code, and modern CI/CD practices.
• Practical experience designing APIs or platforms for autonomous AI agents, including MCP protocols, function calling, and tool schemas; familiarity with RAG, vector search, and semantic layers.
• Hands-on experience with security-first architectures, including SOC 2 and Zero-Trust, extended to AI agents through agent identity, permissioning, blast-radius controls, prompt-injection defense, and enterprise data guardrails.
• Active, hands-on use of AI tools to accelerate architecture design, documentation, and codebase AI-readiness.
• Exceptional communication skills and ability to drive cross-team alignment, resolve design conflicts, and work with senior stakeholders.

Desired qualifications

• Experience with low-code platforms, API management products, or enterprise integration domains such as PLM or ERP.
• Experience building developer-facing toolkits, including SDKs, CLIs, React component libraries, and npm ecosystems.
• Experience with agent-orchestration frameworks or agentic coding tools beyond single-shot AI assistance.
• Experience establishing evaluation frameworks or review processes for AI-generated technical artifacts.
