System Engineer

The project focuses on developing and enhancing a global alternative payments platform that enables e-commerce companies to expand through locally relevant payment methods. It includes supporting PSD2-compliant payment flows, integrating external payment providers, implementing complex fintech business logic, and continuously refactoring the platform to improve scalability and maintainability.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and maintain multiple on-premises and cloud data centers to ensure optimal performance and scalability.
• Manage and optimize virtualization platforms for high availability and performance.
• Install, configure, and maintain Windows and Linux servers, ensuring smooth operations and system reliability.
• Manage and maintain MSSQL Servers and NAS storage supporting business-critical applications.
• Implement security best practices, maintain data-security devices and solutions, and ensure IT infrastructure compliance with PCI and ISO standards.
• Conduct regular system audits.
• Proactively monitor hardware and system software.
• Implement and manage system monitoring and alerting tools.
• Troubleshoot IT incidents and problems, minimizing downtime for business-critical applications.
• Ensure data integrity by configuring and maintaining backup solutions and disaster-recovery plans.
• Manage access infrastructure, user accounts, and access rights.
• Manage IT infrastructure projects with in-house and outsourced teams, participate in cross-department projects, and provide project updates to management.
• Work with other departments and global partners to support applications and services.
• Define and implement standards for office infrastructure, employee equipment, and workplace IT solutions.
• Maintain an up-to-date IT asset inventory and document infrastructure solutions.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in similar IT infrastructure roles.
• University degree in technical science or a related field.
• Experience with on-premises and cloud data centers, including physical and virtual infrastructure components.
• Hands-on experience with virtualization platforms, best practices, backup, and recovery solutions.
• Strong Windows and Linux server administration expertise.
• Cloud-environment and automation experience; Azure preferred.
• Web server experience with IIS and Apache.
• Experience with antivirus, monitoring, alerting, and ticketing systems.
• Knowledge of PCI and ISO security frameworks, endpoint protection, security segmentation, and server hardening.
• Working knowledge of MSSQL Server services, security concepts, failover, backup, and recovery.
• Strong ability to troubleshoot IT infrastructure and services, including DNS, SMTP, NTP, and syslog.
• Deep understanding of the OSI model, IP networking, subnetting, VLANs, VPNs, NAT, and firewalls, with the ability to resolve connectivity issues across multiple data centers.
• Understanding of CI/CD models and change-management processes.
• Upper-Intermediate English or higher.
