Staff Software Engineer, Android Hotword

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in software development.
• 5 years of experience testing and launching software products.
• 5 years of experience with Android application development.
• 5 years of experience in software development using Java/Kotlin.
• Experience with operating systems, including Android.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 10 years of experience as an Android OS developer working on the Android OS and Google Play services.
• 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
• Experience developing in Kotlin or Java programming languages.
• Experience designing and building APIs and large, complex systems.

About the Job

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance large-scale software solutions.
• Build Android software for Hotword detection.
• Contribute to full-stack development, working primarily in Java and Kotlin.
• Develop third-party APIs.
• Demonstrate AI fluency. Be prepared to discuss knowledge and use of AI tools during the hiring process.
