Java Developer (e-commerce)

Development of an e-commerce project for a client that is one of the largest companies in this sector in the country.

Our expectations

• Min. 5 year of experience as Java Developer

• Proven track record as a Software Engineer in delivering highly complex solutions.

• Knowledge and experience with Java Ecosystem - Java, Kotlin, Groovy, Spring Framework, and other languages - Python, Go

• Experience with Apache Spark, Apache Hadoop , Apache Mesos and TensorFlow

• Knowledge of engineering practices & methodologies: TDD, DDD, CI/CD, Pair Programming

• Fundamental experience and a strong interest in AI-driven solutions, particularly in LLM integration and agentic systems/frameworks.

• Ability to lead the design and implementation of complex system features and components.

• Strong sense of ownership over delivered solutions, including code quality, stability, scalability, and observability (monitoring, logging).

• Experience in driving architectural decisions and evaluating technical trade-offs.

• Proficiency in identifying and managing technical risks, dependencies, and technical debt.

• Evaluating technical decisions through the lens of user impact, rather than solely fulfilling specifications.

• Strong collaborative skills in working alongside engineers, Product Managers, and UX/UI Designers.

• High level of autonomy and accountability, characteristic of contractor roles.

• Advanced communication skillis both in Polish and English (at least B2 level).

• Open to hybrid work from the client's Warsaw office.

Nice to have

• Practical experience with cloud environments (GCP preferred) and Kubernetes.

• Experience working with large-scale, distributed systems.

• Experience in cross-team collaboration within complex organizational structures.

• Providing technical mentorship and knowledge sharing within the project team.

• Advising on technical best practices and driving the optimization of engineering standards across the project.

Main responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain highly scalable, robust Kotlin-based features and distributed components, taking full ownership of code quality, observability, and technical debt management.

• Drive the technical implementation of cutting-edge AI capabilities by integrating LLMs, agentic frameworks, and smart automation into the core platform to directly enhance the end-user experience.

• Act as a true autonomous contributor within a team of specialists and collaborate closely with Product Managers, UX Designers, and cloud engineers on GCP/Kubernetes while evaluating trade-offs, managing technical risks, and mentoring the team.
