Product Engineering — Frontend Background (Full-stack)

Mid • Remote

15,000 - 25,000 PLN/mo

Poznan, WP, Poland

The role

This is a full-stack product engineering cooperation with a strong frontend focus. You take responsibility for technical initiatives end-to-end: from technical discovery and solution design, through implementation and testing, to release and production readiness.

The Product Manager steers direction and owns the what and why. You own the how and the technical solution.

Your technical home is the frontend: user journeys, component architecture, interaction design, and UX quality. You also work across the backend when practical—for example, when connecting APIs, implementing business logic, or building integrations.

What you'll actually do

  • Deliver user-facing features end-to-end: design, build, test, and ship both the frontend and backend.
  • Partner with the Product Manager on technical discovery to validate feasibility, identify constraints, and shape the technical approach before scope is locked.
  • Own end-to-end quality and care whether the experience works in production, not only whether it passed review.
  • Use AI-augmented development: Claude Code is a daily driver, with MCP servers, custom agents, and internal tooling as part of the workflow.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Managers and backend engineers; you own the how, while the PM owns the what and why.
  • Maintain UX coherence by noticing recurring issues, raising them, and leaving the product better than you found it.

Tech stack

  • Full-stack
  • TypeScript
  • JavaScript
  • VueJS
  • Node.js
  • Claude Code
  • MCP servers
  • AI agents
  • REST API
  • Docker
  • GitLab CI/CD
  • PHP
  • Laravel
  • MySQL / MariaDB
  • MongoDB
  • Redis
  • Microservices
  • Kubernetes

What we're looking for

Technical expectations:

  • Strong commercial experience with TypeScript, JavaScript, VueJS, Tailwind, and Pinia, including component architecture, state management, and performance.
  • UX sensibility: you notice problems before users complain and care about interaction quality.
  • Documented PHP and Laravel backend engineering experience. You understand design patterns, APIs, caching, database query optimization, microservices, and message queues. Backend development is a daily task in this full-stack role.
  • Hands-on experience with Claude Code, Cursor, or equivalent AI tooling is a strong plus, including generating backend integrations with AI and understanding skills, spec-driven development, and feedback loops.
  • Communicative Polish and English for close collaboration with PMs, QA, and software engineers.

You'll enjoy collaborating with us if

  • You have shipped user-facing features used by real people and understand what broke and why.
  • You notice UI details that most engineers scroll past.
  • You are curious about the business reason behind a feature before building it.
  • You naturally take responsibility for a feature from the PM conversation through to production.
  • You use AI tools to move beyond the frontend boundary into full-stack work when needed.
  • You care about slow connections, keyboard use, and screen sizes nobody designed for.
  • You can assess whether a feature is worth building without needing to make the final product decision.

Bonus points

  • You have a side project that you built, shipped, and perhaps use yourself.
  • You use AI tools on your own account, not only when they are provided as part of a project.
  • You have worked with or contributed to a design system or component library.
  • You have built Node.js services or backend integrations beyond the occasional CRUD endpoint.

Probably not for you if

  • Your definition of done is a Figma-accurate implementation regardless of how it works for users.
  • You consider backend someone else's problem and maintain that as a firm boundary.
  • Your hands-on AI experience is mostly autocomplete and the occasional PR summary.

Contract terms

  • B2B cooperation.
  • Monthly compensation: 15,000–25,000 PLN net, depending on experience and agreed scope of services.
  • Remote-first collaboration model.
  • International technology and product projects.
  • Flexible project collaboration setup.
  • Planned service breaks aligned with contract terms.
  • Opportunity to collaborate with experienced product and technology teams.
  • Opportunity to access selected knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Recruitment process

  • Introductory call with the recruiter, up to 45 minutes, covering your background, what you are looking for, and mutual fit.
  • Technical interview with the Team Leader, Tech Lead, and Product Manager, up to 90 minutes. It includes technical questions and discussion of frontend architecture, full-stack delivery, product ownership, and practical AI use. The focus is on judgment and initiative rather than keyword recall.
  • Time-boxed technical task reflecting the type of services involved, reviewed together in a follow-up call. The focus is on your process, UX decisions, and how you handle work beyond the frontend.

AI has made execution accessible to almost everyone. What's rare now is judgment — knowing what to build, why it matters, and what it takes to see it through to real customer impact. The role At Profitroom we build hospitality software used by thousands of hotels and millions of guests. Engineers own initiatives end-to-end: from understanding the business problem, through technical discovery, implementation, release, and production. The PM steers direction. You own the technical solution — all of it. Your technical home is backend development: data models, business logic, APIs, distributed systems. You step outside it when AI and established patterns make it practical. When something genuinely exceeds your range, you recognise the call and make it — but "genuinely" is the key word. "The builder drives; the PM steers." This is what we mean when we say Product Engineer. Not a title — a way of working. What you'll own Backend services - designed, built, tested, and shipped by you Technical discovery: validate feasibility, identify constraints, and shape the approach before scope is locked End-to-end quality: merged code is the beginning, not the end- you stay on standby through hypercare AI-augmented development: Claude Code is our daily driver- MCP servers, custom agents, and internal tooling are part of the real workflow Close collaboration with Product Managers - you own the how, they own the what and why Continuous improvement: you leave systems better than you found them You'll enjoy collaborating with us if You've shipped things that survived contact with real users — and when bugs appeared, they were yours to fix You get restless when you don't understand why something is being built before you start building it Owning a problem end-to-end feels more natural than executing a fully-specified ticket AI tools feel like a natural extension of how you think and work — not something you use because someone told you to You have opinions about what quality actually means, and your answer doesn't start with "the QA team" You can explain a technical trade-off to a product manager and a business rationale to a senior engineer You ask "is this worth building at all?" before diving into how to build it Bonus points: You have a side project — something you built for yourself, for real users, or just because you had to You use AI tools on your own account, not just when your employer provides them You've built or worked with Event Sourcing / CQRS in a production system You've built an MCP server or Claude Code agent for a real workflow Probably not for you if: You're most comfortable when everything is fully specified before you start You consider testing someone else's job, or something you do after the feature is done Your hands-on AI experience is mostly autocomplete and the occasional PR summary Technical expectations PHP & Laravel / Symfony — strong commercial experience; you know the frameworks, not just the syntax Backend architecture — microservices, REST APIs, event-driven systems; you've designed things, not just implemented them Infrastructure & databases — MySQL (MariaDB), MongoDB, Redis, Docker, Kubernetes, GitLab CI/CD AI tooling — hands-on Claude Code, Cursor, or equivalent in real development; bonus if you've built MCP servers or agents Communicative Polish and English — you work closely with PMs, QA, and other engineers Tech stack PHP, Laravel, Symfony, Claude Code, MCP servers, AI agents, MySQL / MariaDB, MongoDB, Redis, CQRS, Event Sourcing, Microservices, RabbitMQ, Docker, Kubernetes, GitLab CI/CD, REST API, JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js. You can describe concrete examples of where AI accelerated your delivery and where you chose to override it Testing as a professional discipline, not a checkbox — you write unit, integration, and API tests as part of delivery, own the test pyramid decisions, and treat untested code as unfinished code PostgreSQL — schema design, query optimization, migrations in a production context AWS experience — you've deployed and operated production workloads on AWS (ECS/EKS, RDS, Lambda, S3) and can make informed infrastructure decisions Comfort working in ambiguous, greenfield settings — you define scope with stakeholders rather than waiting for pre-scoped tickets Responsibilities: Own features end-to-end: design, implement, test, deploy, and maintain across the full stack. Work split ~80% backend, 20% frontend. Make foundational architectural decisions on a greenfield codebase — data models, API contracts, service boundaries, test strategy Build and maintain the Java/Spring Boot backend that powers the product's core logic Contribute to the React/TypeScript frontend when needed — you're backend-primary, but you ship UI when the team needs it Integrate AI coding tools into your daily workflow to accelerate delivery while maintaining code quality — and help the team adopt these practices Collaborate directly with product stakeholders to refine requirements in a fast-moving, low-ceremony environment

🏢 Summary: Permanent Product Manager role focused on reimagining financial institutions’ operations by designing and launching AI-native solutions that replace legacy back-office workflows. The position owns the full product lifecycle and acts as a domain expert in regulated financial environments, driving ROI for enterprise clients. The role requires deep expertise in financial operations and building AI-powered automation from scratch. 🗂️ Requirements: 5+ years of product management experience, Experience in financial services operations (operational side of financial institutions), Experience building products for operations, risk, or compliance users, Experience owning full product lifecycle from discovery to launch, Ability to define and communicate ROI-driven value propositions for enterprise buyers, Strong customer discovery and validation skills, Experience working in regulated financial environments, Hands-on experience building AI-native workflows and automation 📃 Skills: AI, ProductManagement, FinancialServices, Operations, Compliance, Risk, Automation, Cursor, Copilot, Claude, Replit, AIagents, Scripting, Regulations, WorkflowAutomation 🏢 Description: Banking is being reimagined—and customers expect every interaction to be easy, personal, and instant. We are building a universal banking assistant that millions of U.S. consumers can use to transact across all financial institutions and, over time, autonomously drive their financial goals. Powered by our proprietary BankGPT platform, this assistant is positioned to displace age-old legacy systems within financial institutions and own the end-to-end CX stack, unlocking a $200B opportunity and potentially replacing multiple publicly traded companies. Ultimately, our mission is to drive financial well-being for millions of consumers. With over two-thirds of Americans living paycheck to paycheck, 50% holding less than $500 in savings, and only 17% financially literate, we aim to put financial well-being on autopilot to help solve this problem.About the Role: Financial institutions are full of operational pain points that haven't been meaningfully addressed in decades. Manual workflows, legacy tools, and inefficiency cost the industry billions. Your job is to go deep into how these institutions actually operate, identify the highest-impact friction points, and build AI-native solutions that fundamentally change the way things work. This isn't about wrapping AI around broken processes. It's about reimagining how these workflows should function when AI is the starting point. This is a domain-expert, permanent role (not a rotation) because customer relationships and regulatory knowledge compound over time. Your expertise is the moat. Key Responsibilities Discover and validate the highest-value operational pain points at financial institutions through deep customer engagement Design and build AI-native solutions from scratch: not incremental improvements to legacy workflows, but fundamentally new approaches Own the full product lifecycle: discovery, validation, build, launch, and iteration for each solution you bring to market Be the customer-facing domain expert: spend time with FI operations teams, understand their workflows at a granular level, and translate pain into product Define outcome-based value narratives for enterprise buyers: prove ROI in terms that CFOs and operations leaders care about Navigate regulatory complexity as a first-class product constraint: financial operations are heavily regulated, and compliance shapes the product, not the other way around Partner with platform teams to leverage shared AI infrastructure and capabilities Required Qualifications 5+ years in product management Experience in financial services operations you've worked in or built products for the operational side of financial institutions (not just consumer-facing apps) Built products where the user is an operations, risk, or compliance professional you understand back-office workflows at a granular level Experience defining ROI-driven narratives for enterprise buyers: you sell business outcomes, not feature lists Comfortable being the domain expert who educates engineering teams and peer PMs on industry nuance Strong discovery instincts you know how to find the real pain points, not just the ones customers articulate AI-native workflow: You build with AI daily — analyzing data, building prototypes, generating regulatory summaries, automating repetitive research. The specific tools don't matter (Cursor, Copilot, Claude, Replit, custom scripts — all count); what matters is that you've moved beyond prompting into building Preferred Skills Working knowledge of financial operations regulations (collections, fraud, compliance, lending): highly valued but learnable for candidates with adjacent financial services experience Financial institution experience Built AI-powered automation for back-office or operations workflows Experience with outcome-based or performance-based pricing models Experience identifying and validating new product opportunities through customer discovery Who you are? You're the person who has sat with operations teams at financial institutions and watched how they actually work: the spreadsheets, the manual queues, the workarounds that exist because nobody built them a real tool. You see friction that others accept as normal, and you immediately start thinking about what an AI-native solution looks like. You understand regulated environments viscerally. You don't treat compliance as a checkbox, you treat it as a design constraint that makes the product better. You've built products where a regulatory misstep isn't just a bug; it's a lawsuit. You're customer-facing and credible. Operations leaders at financial institutions trust you because you speak their language and understand their world. You can present ROI to a CFO and workflow details to an operations manager in the same meeting. You build your own tools. You use AI to analyze operational data, prototype solution workflows, generate regulatory requirement maps, and accelerate every aspect of your domain work — building agents, writing scripts, creating automated workflows, whatever gets the job done fastest. You see AI as both the product you're building and the way you build it. Our Values Act Like You're the Founder: Own the outcome from start to finish No Fear. Speak Your Mind: Candor moves us forward Pursuit of Excellence: Raise the bar, every time AI-First Mindset: Think automation, intelligence, and scale-first in every solution Don't Assume. Seek to Understand: Start with questions, not conclusions How We Work? Every PM builds with AI daily. Our standard toolkit is Cursor, MCP integrations, and custom AI agents — and we onboard every new hire on these tools in their first week. We hold a high quality bar and move at startup speed. Flat organization. No empire-building. Compensation Base Salary is expected to be between $175,000 - $225,000, plus 10%bonus and stock options. Exact compensation may vary based on skills and location. Benefits 100% paid health, dental & vision care 401(k) match & financial wellness perks Discretionary PTO + paid parental leave Mental health, wellness & family benefits A mission-driven team shaping the future of banking At Interface.ai, we are committed to providing an inclusive and welcoming environment for all employees and applicants.
