Job Description:
Senior Java engineer joining the RTDP (Real-Time Data Platform) squad to build and operate Kafka/Kafka Connect/Debezium/Flink pipelines on Strimzi-managed Kubernetes for the Currencycloud Treasury (Moneta) programme. Strong Java 21 / Spring Boot 3.x, production Kafka experience, and comfort with GitOps (ArgoCD, Helm, Terraform) required. Contributes to design, build, testing, and operational readiness alongside the existing RTDP team.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Contributes to Kafka Connect/Debezium pipelines, Flink stream jobs, Protobuf event schemas, Strimzi Helm charts, and Datadog observability modules. Staff-aug engagement — output measured in sprint contribution and code merged, not fixed deliverables

Responsibilities Preparing and configuring development environments. Developing and implementing new functionalities. Creating and modifying database structures. Designing and executing unit and integration tests. Developing and performing performance tests. Ensuring that implemented changes comply with system architecture and quality standards. Participating in code reviews and quality assurance activities. Preparing solutions for deployment, including code repository management, configuration updates, and deployment documentation. Requirements Commercial experience in Java development. Experience working with systems that process large volumes of real-time data. Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka . Experience creating and executing unit and integration tests. Knowledge of relational databases. Understanding of software development best practices and quality standards. Nice to Have Knowledge of the Java Swing library. Experience developing and maintaining desktop applications based on Java Swing.
