Job Description
Olsson's Facility Engineering and Design (FED) Team is at the forefront of engineering innovation, providing comprehensive services for data centers, healthcare facilities, large commercial developments, educational institutions, and military installations. Our expertise includes technical analysis, design services, and professional consulting, ensuring top-tier quality and world class installations.
We're looking for a Lead RCDD Designer—a technical expert who brings both precision and creativity to complex design challenges. In this role, you will guide structured cabling and communications system design efforts for data centers, mentor others in best practices, and serve as a key technical resource for both internal teams and clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead structured cabling and communications system design for data center environments, ensuring reliability, scalability, and alignment with industry standards and client requirements.
- Leverage CAD/BIM tools to produce detailed engineering drawings including cable routing, equipment layouts, and system documentation for both new facilities and upgrades.
- Serve as the technical authority on RCDD requirements, providing direction, quality oversight, and innovative solutions throughout project delivery.
- Manage and oversee smaller projects from concept through completion, ensuring design excellence, clear communication, and seamless coordination across disciplines.
- Collaborate directly with data center clients, representing commitment to partnership, responsiveness, and exceptional service.
- Conduct site visits as needed to verify existing conditions, support installation progress, and ensure successful project outcomes in diverse field environments.

The typical annual salary range for this role is as listed below. Compensation may vary based on geographic location, experience, and qualifications. Employees in this role may be eligible for performance‑based bonus and merit increases.
