Seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Purchasing Inventory Specialist to join a fast-growing startup team. This role is essential to ensuring effective planning, purchasing, and tracking of materials across operations.
Responsibilities
- Support sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing of goods, materials, and services
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely material availability and delivery
- Maintain supplier lists and track vendor performance for cost, quality, and delivery
- Process purchase orders and follow up on delays or discrepancies
- Support contract administration and supplier compliance
- Handle RMAs and maintain accurate records
- Research new suppliers and alternative materials
- Apply purchasing legal concepts including Terms & Conditions, MSAs, MPAs, and Vendor Managed Inventory
- Maintain organized inventory systems and improve traceability
- Perform inventory audits and cycle counts using ABC methodology
- Track inventory movement and enforce internal part number usage
- Support material kitting and staging for manufacturing and engineering builds
- Ensure data accuracy between physical inventory, ERP systems, and PLM platforms
- Develop procedures related to receiving, handling, and storing inventory
- Document and improve inventory workflows and SOPs
- Train team members on inventory procedures and systems
- Support logistics and shipping coordination
- Contribute to procurement and inventory process improvements
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- 2+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or inventory control
- Experience in manufacturing or startup environments preferred
- Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, or Microsoft Dynamics
- Familiarity with PLM tools such as Arena
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of procurement best practices and inventory management principles
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
