Position Summary

The position supports the development and delivery of cross domain solutions for secure information sharing across multiple domains. The Splunk Software Engineer develops, maintains, and enhances complex and diverse software systems including processing-intensive analytics, algorithm development, manipulation of large data sets, real-time systems, and business management information systems.

Essential Job Functions

  • Work individually or as part of a team.
  • Review and test software components for adherence to design requirements and document test results.
  • Resolve software problem reports.
  • Utilize software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment.
  • Provide input to software components of system design including hardware/software tradeoffs, software reuse, COTS/GOTS utilization, and requirements analysis.
  • Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements.
  • Debug existing software and correct defects.
  • Provide recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards.
  • Design and code new software or modify existing software to add features.
  • Integrate existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments.
  • Develop simple data queries for databases or repositories.
  • Write or review software and system documentation.
  • Serve as team lead appropriate to the software development process.
  • Design or implement complex database or data repository interfaces and queries.
  • Develop or implement algorithms to meet system performance and functional standards.
  • Assist with developing and executing test procedures for software components.
  • Develop software solutions by analyzing system performance standards, workflows, and data usage.
  • Modify existing software to correct errors, adapt to new hardware, or improve performance.
  • Design, develop, and modify software systems using scientific analysis and mathematical models.

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • US Citizenship required.
  • Required Security Clearance: TS/SCI w/ Poly.
  • Bachelor's degree with fourteen (14) years of experience in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university required.
  • Fourteen (14) years of experience as a Software Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity required.
  • Five (5) years of experience with object-oriented programming languages such as C++ and Java.
  • Four (4) additional years of SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may substitute for a bachelor's degree.
  • Must have SPLUNK, ROXY, and RHEL 9 experience.

Desired Skills

  • Testing experience.
  • Linux systems administration experience.
  • FS Poly preferred.

Pay Range and Benefits

  • Salary range: $125,000 - $250,000.
