Principal Software Engineer

Xometry is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join the Xometry Partner Experience Technology Organization. In this role as a senior individual contributor, you will guide software implementation across several engineering teams and influence decisions across the technology organization. You will bring deep expertise and technical leadership to help build fast, reliable, and intuitive solutions that empower partners to manage jobs, streamline operations, and maximize growth potential within the manufacturing marketplace.

How You'll Contribute

• Hands-On Technical Leadership: Write and review architectural plans for new projects and participate in implementation with the team.
• Guide Innovation: Champion the adoption of a balanced mix of traditional and cutting-edge technologies and methods.
• Teaching & Mentorship: Serve as a mentor and guide to engineers across the organization.
• Code Review: Perform code reviews and mentor others on effective review practices.
• Operational Excellence: Deliver high-quality software aligned with customer expectations and business timelines.
• Collaborative Strategy: Partner with product managers, designers, and leadership to promote collaboration and high standards.

What You'll Bring

• 12+ years of professional software development experience in a fast-paced, product-driven environment
• Marketplace product experience with an understanding of scaling multi-sided platforms
• Strong technical expertise in full-stack development
• Backend development experience with Python, including services, APIs, and data-driven systems
• Backend microservices and REST API design experience using Node.js
• Frontend development experience with React and TypeScript, focused on scalable UI design and usability
• Experience with AWS, including deploying, monitoring, and scaling production workloads
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to set technical direction, mentor engineers, and influence business decisions
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders

Compensation and Benefits

• Estimated base salary range: $148,000 - $193,000 annually plus bonus
