About the Role

As a Commercial Counsel at xAI, you will drive commercial contracting efforts by negotiating high-value enterprise agreements and commercial contracts, including enterprise customer agreements for AI products and services, strategic partnerships, hyperscaler agreements, technology deals, and vendor agreements. You will work closely with Sales, Business Development, Product, Finance, and Legal teams to analyze and mitigate risks, ensure compliance, and streamline processes in a fast-paced environment. This is a full-time on-site role based in Palo Alto, Los Angeles, Austin, or New York.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate complex technology agreements.
  • Collaborate with technical, product, sales, finance, and legal teams to establish commercial legal strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Design legal structures and operations that support product sales while mitigating risks.
  • Assist with a broad range of legal department needs.

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of legal experience, ideally including technology companies and top-tier law firms.
  • In-house commercial counsel experience preferred.
  • Experience with intellectual property and technology transactions is a strong plus.
  • Understanding of customer product use cases and commercial processes.
  • Strong ownership, curiosity, problem-solving ability, and sound judgment.
  • JD and license or qualification to practice law in California or New York.
