About the Project
For an international client from the banking sector, we are looking for an experienced Senior / Expert Java Integration Developer to join a growing engineering team responsible for developing and modernising backend integration components supporting Safekeeping and Corporate Actions platforms.
The project is undergoing significant expansion as part of a long-term strategic transformation, including migration of business processes and increased transaction volumes.
You will participate in redesigning existing integrations, building modern Java microservices, and integrating critical banking systems.
You'll join an experienced Scrum team working in a collaborative international environment with architects, analysts, QA engineers, and infrastructure specialists.
Your Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain Java-based backend applications and integration services
- Develop modern microservices using Spring Boot
- Build and enhance integrations between banking systems using REST APIs, Kafka and IBM MQ
- Participate in application architecture improvements and legacy modernization
- Analyze business requirements, technical documentation and system dependencies
- Support deployment planning and production issue investigation
- Develop automated unit and integration tests
- Participate in code reviews and promote engineering best practices

Must Have

As a Senior Java Developer , you will be working for our client, a leader in the banking industry, dedicated to building and maintaining core domain systems that serve internal clients. Your main responsibilities: Develop and maintain core banking services using Java 21/25, Spring Boot 4.0, and MongoDB. Design and implement event-driven architectures utilizing Apache Kafka and Schema Registry. Collaborate on microservices ecosystem, ensuring high quality and scalability. Work with legacy code and contribute to system evolution within a complex environment. Ensure code quality through tools like JaCoCo and SonarQube, following best practices. Participate in CI/CD pipelines using OpenShift, Jenkins, and Maven. Apply Domain-Driven Design (DDD), CQRS, and Hexagonal architecture principles. Work independently within a mono-repo approach, managing multiple repositories and shared libraries.
