Cardiometabolic Medical Science Liaison

Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is a commercial stage biopharmaceutical company developing RNAi-based therapies for diseases with a genetic basis.

The Position

We are seeking an experienced cardiometabolic Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to join our Medical Affairs team in a field-based role. The candidate must be located within one of the territories.

MSLs are responsible for developing professional relationships with healthcare professionals through scientific engagement to support clinical stage and launch molecules. MSLs engage healthcare professionals through scientific exchange and provide clinical and scientific support.

Responsibilities

• Engage with cardiologists, endocrinologists, healthcare professionals, and stakeholders to educate on clinical and scientific evidence aligned with strategic imperatives
• Educate on RNAi technology, hypertriglyceridemia, familial chylomicronemia syndrome, and hypercholesterolemia
• Synthesize and communicate clinical and scientific insights to internal stakeholders
• Attend and present at scientific congresses and meetings to stay current with developments in the cardiometabolic therapeutic area
• Respond to unsolicited inquiries consistent with MSL compliance standards
• Support company sponsored clinical trials through investigator site engagement
• Support speaker training and ensure speakers remain current with evolving disease and product data
• Support scientific congresses including Opinion Leader engagement, session coverage, booth activities, and company debriefs
• Monitor and analyze scientific publications, clinical trials, and the competitive landscape
• Maintain clinical and scientific expertise and industry business acumen
• Develop territory-specific Opinion Leader and account plans
• Communicate clinical and scientific information accurately and clearly
• Document quantitative and qualitative accomplishments
• Provide scientific support for Medical Information inquiries
• Develop scientific content for medical education initiatives
• Support Medical Affairs projects and initiatives
• Act in accordance with company policies

Requirements

• PhD, PharmD, MD, or DO degree required
• 5 years of experience as an MSL
• Cardiometabolic therapeutic experience
• Industry experience in Medical Affairs at a biotech or pharmaceutical company
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a dynamic environment
• Strong comprehension of the cardiometabolic therapeutic area
• Ability to interpret scientific data and translate findings into educational and research insights
• Understanding of healthcare delivery systems and managed care
• Understanding of research study design and execution
• Strong project management, organizational, and time management skills
• Ability to manage ambiguity and thrive in a changing environment
• Ability to travel
• Current valid authorization to work in the country where the role is located

Benefits

• Competitive salary range: $190,000–$210,000 USD
