About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on Assistant Controller to lead corporate accounting, ERP strategy, and financial reporting. You will play a key role in building an AI-first accounting organization by implementing AI-driven agents to automate journal entries and reconciliations, improving the speed and accuracy of month-end close.

Responsibilities

  • Month-End Close: Lead the full close cycle including journal entries, reconciliations, and flux analysis.
  • AI Implementation: Integrate AI agents to automate journal entries, reconciliations, and variance reporting.
  • Technical Accounting: Oversee ASC 718, ASC 842, ASC 350-40, and ASC 805.
  • Consolidation: Manage multi-entity consolidations and intercompany eliminations in compliance with GAAP.
  • Financial Reporting: Deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements including cash flow statements and variance insights.
  • ERP Strategy: Design and implement ERP optimization initiatives.
  • Audit: Lead annual audits, manage PBC lists, and ensure GAAP-compliant financial statement disclosures.
  • Internal Controls: Develop scalable control frameworks and enforce accounting policies.
  • Procurement & Accounts Payable: Oversee procurement and T&E processes, implementing AI-driven efficiencies.
  • Treasury & Cash Management: Manage cash positioning, debt facilities, forecasting models, and ACH/wire controls.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor a team of five accountants in a hands-on player-manager role.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required.
  • 10+ years of accounting and financial management experience, including 5+ years in leadership.
  • Big 4 or large regional public accounting experience.
  • Deep GAAP expertise including ASC 718, 842, 350-40, and 805.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (NetSuite or equivalent) and advanced Excel modeling.
  • Experience implementing automation tools or AI agents.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities.

Location

Bay Area (Hybrid) or remote from Dallas, TX. Two-day hybrid schedule in the Bay Area office effective October 2026.

Compensation

$150,000 - $175,000 annually, adjusted based on location, experience, skills, and performance.
