Staff Software Engineer (Applied AI)

You will build Traba's product on top of AI agents and set the standard for how they are applied across the stack. You will put frontier models and existing agents to work across the staffing marketplace to automate the pipeline that sources, vets, matches, and places workers on millions of shifts, while owning the core backend services and platform it runs on. This is a platform-engineering role focused on infrastructure, matching systems, data challenges, and scaling distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Set the standard for applying agents across the stack to automate the staffing pipeline and build with AI-assisted tooling.
• Architect and lead core systems, from real-time matching to autonomous vetting pipelines powered by ML and agents.
• Own platform architecture with long-term scalability in mind.
• Drive backend performance, reliability, and scale.

Requirements

• 7+ years with TypeScript/Node.js or Python.
• Strong experience with PostgreSQL.
• Experience with messaging systems such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Proven track record of shipping and leading projects at scale.
• Deep experience designing scalable applications, APIs, data modeling, query optimization, and distributed systems.
• Experience building or integrating AI/LLM systems in production is a plus.
• Comfort operating in an early-stage, ambiguous environment.
