EHS Manager

Mid

Greenwood, IN

The Safety team exists to protect Spreetail’s most important asset — our people. The Safety Manager drives a proactive safety culture by owning both the strategic oversight and the hands-on, day-to-day execution of safety programs across the fulfillment center. This role is a floor-level presence that conducts walk-throughs, leads incident investigations, delivers training, and ensures compliance is lived, not just documented. In the absence of dedicated Safety Supervisors, the Safety Manager personally carries out the full breadth of responsibilities required to keep every associate safe and every program audit-ready.

How you will achieve success:

  • Ownership of key ORIR & LTI rates, owning the data, supporting Operations in determining root cause, and driving corrective and preventative actions to completion.
  • Ensure every OSHA recordable is documented accurately, investigated thoroughly, and corrective actions are closed on time.
  • Support P&C in ensuring new hire and PIT safety training completion is at or above 95%, with onboarding safety training completed before first shift.
  • Conduct monthly safety audits, score results, and track open items to closure with continuous improvement.
  • Maintain current and practiced emergency response plans, evacuation procedures, and first aid resources across all shifts.
  • Actively manage workers’ compensation claims, utilize modified duty programs, and report claims on time.

What experiences will help you in this role:

  • 3+ years of safety or EHS experience in production, warehouse, distribution center, or e-fulfillment environment.
  • Formal or extensive regulatory experience with responsibility for 300 logs, complaints, and onsite support.
  • Experience supporting multi-shift operations, including nights or weekends.
  • Hands-on experience conducting Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), safety audits, incident investigations, and root cause analyses.
  • Proven ability to independently own and execute integrated safety programs.
  • Comfortable spending significant time on the warehouse floor.

What you can expect:

  • Flexible work culture, generous vacation policy, paid parental leave, and additional paid time off benefits.
  • Recognition programs and milestone rewards.
  • Comprehensive health and wellness benefits including medical, dental, vision, telehealth, and mental health resources.
  • Paid time off to give back to the community.
