Design Release Engineer Interior Seats

Job Description

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, and or MBA from an ABET accredited university (or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of interior parts, focused on complete interior seats
  • Experience developing performance standards, creating master sections and surface feasibility proposal for PDO
  • Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) experience (Green Belt or Black Belt preferred), Shainin Green Belt
  • NX and Teamcenter knowledge
  • Automotive interior product design components/systems design/development/releasing experience
  • Experience with tooling feasibility in injection molded plastics/decorative components
  • Knowledge of Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA), Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R), FEA, Mold Flow virtual validation, GD&T, and i-Speed
  • Knowledge of quality methods and tools (Green Belt -- DFSS/Reactive, SBT, 3L5Y)
  • Strong technical knowledge of plastic and metal component design and seat system interfaces
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanisms, latches and moving component interfaces
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of powertrain, engine and transmission operation and components
  • Excellent MS Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to lead colleagues from engineering, planning, and suppliers to achieve goals
  • Must be able to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
  • Must be able to lead and manage suppliers
  • Some travel required to supplier and corporate engine/transmission/vehicle assembly plants, including Canada and Mexico
  • Green/Black Belt in Shainin or DFSS desirable
