Design Release Engineer Interior Seats

Job Description

Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, and or MBA from an ABET accredited university (or equivalent)
Knowledge of interior parts, focused on complete interior seats
Experience developing performance standards, creating master sections and surface feasibility proposal for PDO
Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) experience (Green Belt or Black Belt preferred), Shainin Green Belt
NX and Teamcenter knowledge
Automotive interior product design components/systems design/development/releasing experience
Experience with tooling feasibility in injection molded plastics/decorative components
Knowledge of Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA), Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R), FEA, Mold Flow virtual validation, GD&T, and i-Speed
Knowledge of quality methods and tools (Green Belt -- DFSS/Reactive, SBT, 3L5Y)
Strong technical knowledge of plastic and metal component design and seat system interfaces
Strong technical knowledge of mechanisms, latches and moving component interfaces
Demonstrated working knowledge of powertrain, engine and transmission operation and components
Excellent MS Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
Ability to lead colleagues from engineering, planning, and suppliers to achieve goals
Must be able to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
Must be able to lead and manage suppliers
Some travel required to supplier and corporate engine/transmission/vehicle assembly plants, including Canada and Mexico
Green/Black Belt in Shainin or DFSS desirable
