EHS Manager

Mid

South Tacoma, WA

The Safety team exists to protect the organization’s most important asset — its people. The Safety Manager drives a proactive safety culture by owning both the strategic oversight and the hands-on, day-to-day execution of safety programs across the fulfillment center. This role maintains a strong floor-level presence, conducting walk-throughs, leading incident investigations, delivering training, and ensuring compliance is actively practiced.

How you will achieve success:

  • Ownership of key ORIR & LTI rates, trending at or below industry benchmarks for warehouse and e-fulfillment operations; own the data, support Operations in determining root cause, and drive corrective and preventative actions to completion.
  • Ensure every OSHA recordable is documented accurately, investigated thoroughly, and corrective actions are closed on time.
  • Support P&C in ensuring new hire and PIT safety training completion is at or above 95% for all associates and departments; ensure onboarding safety training is completed before a new hire’s first shift.
  • Conduct monthly safety audits, score results, and track open items to closure with continuous improvement quarter-over-quarter.
  • Maintain and regularly practice emergency response plans, evacuation procedures, and first aid resources across all shifts.
  • Actively manage workers’ compensation claims, utilize modified duty programs, ensure timely reporting, and drive cost reduction.

What experiences will help you in this role:

  • 3+ years of safety or EHS experience, ideally in a production, warehouse, distribution center, or e-fulfillment environment.
  • Formal or extensive regulatory experience with responsibility for OSHA 300 logs, complaints, and onsite support.
  • Experience supporting multi-shift operations, including night or weekend shifts.
  • Direct, hands-on experience conducting Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), safety audits, incident investigations, and root cause analyses.
  • Proven ability to independently own and execute integrated safety programs without dedicated Safety Supervisor support.
  • Comfortable maintaining a strong floor presence, spending significant time on the warehouse floor.

What you can expect:

  • Flexible work culture promoting results and time off when needed, including generous vacation policy, paid parental leave, and additional paid time-off benefits.
  • Recognition programs celebrating accomplishments and impact.
  • Health and wellness benefits including medical, dental, vision, telehealth, and mental health resources.
  • Opportunities to give back to the community with paid time off for social impact activities.
  • Commitment to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
