Software Developer – Computational Pathology Tools & Workflows

We are looking for a Software Developer to join a Computational Pathology team focused on building internal tools that enable pathology data to flow from digital scanners into a regulated AI environment. The work involves processing and managing whole slide imaging (WSI) data, ensuring data quality, handling metadata, and supporting compliant data preparation workflows. This is a hands-on Python development role with a strong focus on data processing, automation, and software reliability. You will collaborate closely with scientists and pathologists to design, develop, test, and maintain tools that support research and AI development activities.

Your tasks

  • Data ingestion and metadata pipelines for whole slide images
  • De-identification and integrity checking of WSI files
  • Dataset splitting and stratification tools
  • Lightweight review and management UIs
  • CI, packaging, and test coverage

Employment Form and Salary

  • B2B: 120 – 140 PLN net/hour + VAT
  • Employment Contract (UoP): 14 000 – 16 000 PLN gross/month

Requirements

  • Strong Python — writing clean, testable, well-documented code
  • Experience with data, tabular data, file-based pipelines, validation, and transformation
  • Experience with image or signal data (e.g. OpenCV, scikit-image, PIL or similar)
  • SQL and data warehousing (Snowflake, DBT, or similar)
  • CI/CD pipelines and packaging (GitHub Actions, Docker)
  • Lightweight UI development in Python (NiceGUI, Streamlit, Gradio or similar)
  • Located in Poland for at least 5 years

Nice to Have

  • Background in a regulated or quality-managed environment (e.g. medical, clinical, GxP, ISO, automotive, aerospace)
