Description

Andersen is hiring a Backend Developer (.NET) in the EU for a project modernizing digital platforms and building scalable microservices-based solutions. The project focuses on transitioning an existing financial services platform from legacy architectures to a microservices and event-driven ecosystem. It includes developing new functionality in .NET and improving scalability, maintainability, and system flexibility.

Responsibilities

  • Participating in the development of .NET-based microservices within a modern cloud-oriented architecture.
  • Working on data-heavy backend features related to customer data management, data quality, and data synchronization.
  • Contributing to data cleaning and migration activities, including work with SQL Server and legacy stored procedures.
  • Designing and implementing services using event-driven architecture and event sourcing principles.
  • Integrating backend services with NoSQL storage and search/indexing components.
  • Supporting improvements to data anonymization and regulatory data handling processes.
  • Collaborating with data analytics, QA, DevOps/Ops, and other engineering team members.
  • Investigating and resolving service requests, defects, and production-related issues within the team’s scope.
  • Participating in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily standups, refinements, and reviews.
  • Working with Azure DevOps boards, repositories, and pipelines as part of the delivery process.

Requirements

  • Commercial .NET / C# backend development experience for 4+ years.
  • Strong expertise in C# and .NET Framework / .NET Core / .NET 8.
  • Hands-on experience building microservice architectures.
  • Experience with containerization.
  • Practical experience with Azure Cosmos DB and/or other NoSQL storage.
  • Solid understanding of event sourcing, CQRS and event-driven architecture.
  • Experience with Azure Event Hub / Kafka or similar.
  • Experience with SQL Server and legacy stored procedures for legacy layer work.
  • Advanced SQL Server knowledge, including performance tuning.
  • Experience on data-heavy projects, including data cleaning, migrations, data quality work, and building data pipelines.
  • Comfortable with Azure DevOps as a toolset (boards, repos, pipelines).
  • Proficiency in Git.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with unit testing.
  • Level of English – from Upper-Intermediate and above.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in FinTech / banking / regulated environments (payments, cards, lending, core banking).
  • Practical knowledge of GDPR data requirements and experience working in regulated environments.
  • Experience with Azure Data Factory.
  • Familiarity with Databricks.
  • Familiarity with Azure AI Search.
  • Experience with Elastic Search suite (Elasticsearch, Kibana, Logstash or similar).
  • Experience with IBM IIB / Enterprise Service Bus or similar integration tools.
  • Experience with Enterprise Scheduler tools (Automic or similar).
  • DevOps awareness: understanding of CI/CD, IaC to comfortably work in a pipeline-driven environment.
  • Background in data quality / MDM / master data management projects.
