Senior Full Stack (Python/Angular/React) Engineer

Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for a Senior/Staff Full-Stack Engineer (Python/Angular/React) for a full-time position (40 hours per week) in Europe.

Description

You will serve as the anchor engineer for a new AI-enabled operational monitoring and decision-support platform in the cold-chain shipping space. This is a senior, hands-on leadership role for a builder who can shape the initial architecture, define engineering standards, and lead the technical implementation of a platform integrating IoT telemetry, shipment workflow data, operational analytics, and future AI-driven capabilities. It is not a maintenance role or a narrowly defined feature factory position.

You will operate in an early-stage environment with evolving requirements and close alignment to real-world operational outcomes. The role involves collaborating with technical and business stakeholders, building backend APIs, and guiding the structure of dashboards and exception-management tools.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar
• 8+ years of software engineering experience with backend and frontend depth
• Strong proficiency in Python for backend and serverless development (Lambda, FastAPI, or similar)
• Experience with Angular and/or React
• Commercial experience with high-load and scalable systems
• Hands-on experience with AWS Amplify for hosting and authentication
• Strong experience with GraphQL (AWS AppSync preferred) and RESTful APIs
• Understanding of query optimization, subscriptions, versioning, and OpenAPI/Swagger
• Deep knowledge of AWS services: Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, Step Functions, CloudWatch, Secrets Manager
• Experience with PostgreSQL and DynamoDB
• Experience with SQS, SNS, EventBridge, Kafka
• Familiarity with Redis or ElastiCache
• Solid understanding of OAuth 2.0, JWT, API rate limiting, XSS, CSRF protection
• Experience with pytest and frontend testing frameworks (Jasmine, Karma, Cypress, Playwright)
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK) and Docker
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline, Amplify CI/CD)
• Knowledge of HIPAA or HITRUST compliance

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications with Python backend and Angular (TypeScript) frontend on AWS
• Build and optimize serverless services using Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, Step Functions
• Develop responsive frontend interfaces with Angular and AWS Amplify (Cognito)
• Design and integrate GraphQL (AppSync) and REST APIs
• Architect data models and communication patterns
• Build event-driven systems using SQS, SNS, EventBridge
• Implement caching strategies with Redis or ElastiCache
• Implement secure authentication and authorization with OAuth 2.0, JWT, Cognito
• Own features end-to-end from database schema to UI components
• Develop scalable, highly available cloud architectures
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines
• Build comprehensive backend and frontend test suites
• Maintain logging, monitoring, and alerting for production systems
• Participate in on-call rotations and incident response
• Conduct code reviews and mentor engineers
• Design and integrate AI-driven solutions and data pipelines
• Implement cost optimization strategies
• Document architecture and development processes
