About the Role
On behalf of our client, a leading international company, we are looking for a motivated and talented Junior / Mid AWS Cloud Engineer to join the local team in Portugal.
In this role, you will be responsible for implementing, automating, and managing AWS cloud environments following industry best practices. This is an incredible opportunity for an engineer early in their cloud career to work with modern architectures, build Landing Zones according to the AWS Well-Architected Framework, and directly impact cloud security and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
AWS Management: Implement, automate, and manage secure AWS cloud environments.
Infrastructure Configuration: Configure AWS resources, including EC2 instances, S3 storage, RDS databases, and core networking components (VPCs, Subnets, Security Groups).
Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Develop clean, reusable IaC scripts using Terraform for automated infrastructure provisioning.
Landing Zones: Build and configure robust Landing Zones in strict accordance with the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
Cloud Security: Implement comprehensive security measures, including IAM roles, strict policies, and encryption mechanisms.
Operational Optimization: Support the organization’s cost-efficiency targets (FinOps) and drive operational excellence.
Collaboration & Architecture: Actively participate in architecture discussions and drive cross-team knowledge sharing.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
IT Experience: 0–3 years of general experience in the IT sector.
AWS Experience: 0–2 years of hands-on experience working directly with AWS environments.
SDLC: Solid, fundamental understanding of the software development lifecycle.
Automation & Scripting: Strong programming, scripting, and automation skills utilizing Python, Bash, etc.
CI/CD Tools: Practical experience working with modern CI/CD tools (specifically GitHub Actions).
Tools: Basic experience with IaC and configuration management tools (specifically Terraform).
Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving capabilities alongside strong communication skills.
Nice to have / Preferred:
AWS Certifications (Associate or Professional level).
Additional AWS Specialty certifications are highly valued (AWS Certified Security or AWS Certified Advanced Networking preferred).
