As a Junior DevOps Engineer, you will help build and maintain a secure, high-performance cloud ecosystem centred on Microsoft Azure. You will support our mission of platform excellence by automating infrastructure, optimizing cloud costs, and ensuring our deployment pipelines are seamless. Success in this position means growing from a foundational contributor into a proactive automation advocate who leverages both traditional DevOps practices and modern AI tools to drive efficiency across the organization.

What you'll do:

  • Assist in the administration of the Microsoft Azure environment, focusing on maintaining cost-effectiveness and enforcing security policies.

  • Support the automation of infrastructure deployment using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform.

  • Develop scripts in Python or PowerShell to eliminate repetitive manual tasks and improve team productivity.

  • Integrate AI-powered tools and LLM-based assistants to automate workflows, generate documentation, and optimize code efficiency.

  • Collaborate with senior engineers to oversee software deployments in production, ensuring stability and minimal downtime.

  • Monitor application performance and infrastructure health using industry-standard tools to proactively identify and troubleshoot issues.

  • Contribute to the definition of best practices for cloud usage and security across cross-functional teams.

  • Explore and test emerging cloud technologies and AI trends to propose innovative improvements for the platform.

Qualifications

  • Education: bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent hands-on experience/technical training).

  • Cloud foundation: basic understanding of public cloud architecture, with a strong desire to specialize in Microsoft Azure.

  • Programming/scripting: entry-level proficiency in at least one language (Python, C#, or Java) and a comfort level with PowerShell scripting.

  • Tooling interest: familiarity with the concepts of CI/CD (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions) and version control (Git).

  • AI curiosity: demonstrated interest in utilizing AI tools (like GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or custom LLM integrations) to enhance coding and automate daily work.
