About the role

Starburst is looking for an Infrastructure specialist with strong Java development skills to work on our internal benchmarking tool for performance analysis. This is a great opportunity to deepen your expertise in a rapidly evolving technology and make a significant impact on leading a cross cloud, cross technologies tool that will allow developers and sales to analyze the performance of our products easily. This role will allow you to work on challenging problems around kubernetes deployments, Trino benchmarking driver, multiple cloud deployments and play with the leading data analytics products in the market. 

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and maintain our competitive analysis benchmarking service. 

  • Collaborate with your team members and other teams globally and operate in a fast paced environment

    • We prioritize focused work, ensuring minimal time is spent in formal meetings, allowing you to concentrate on design, coding and PR reviews

    • Being able to clearly articulate your ideas in writing across various communication channels like Slack, GitHub PRs, and Design Documents is essential in our globally distributed team

  • Provide exceptional support for internal customers such as fellow engineers, sales and marketing. 

Some of the things we look for

  • Software development experience with Java 

  • Demonstrated experience with software engineering and design best practices.

  • At least 2 years of experience developing infrastructure as code, like Pulumi / Terraform. 

  • At least 2 years of experience developing infrastructure with Kubernetes.

  • At least 2 years of experience with creating/managing AWS infrastructure.
