Senior / Staff Platform Engineer (AWS · Infrastructure · Distributed System)

40,000 - 50,000 PLN

🏢 Summary: End-to-end Infrastructure Engineer role owning AWS architecture for a distributed, event-driven system that processes payments and documents with strict correctness guarantees. You will design, operate, and automate cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, observability, and data systems to ensure deterministic state, reliability, and zero-downtime deployments. The role combines infrastructure, backend awareness, and production ownership in a high-autonomy environment. 🗂️ Requirements: 6+ years building and operating production infrastructure, Deep operational expertise in AWS services, Strong Infrastructure as Code discipline (no manual console changes), Experience designing and running event-driven architectures, Strong knowledge of distributed systems concepts (ordering, idempotency, retries, recovery), Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, Lambda, SQS, Redis, S3, Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, Strong focus on observability, monitoring, and alerting, Experience enforcing IAM least-privilege and managing cloud security, Ability to manage multi-environment infrastructure (dev, staging, prod) with parity 📃 Skills: AWS, Lambda, SQS, S3, Redis, PostgreSQL, CDK, SAM, CloudFormation, CI/CD, IAM, TypeScript, Node.js, React, Networking, Observability, Logging, Tracing 🏢 Description: About Blue Language Labs Blue is building the trust layer the AI economy has been waiting for — a protocol for structured, verifiable, multi-party agreements that execute deterministically, leave an audit trail, and work across any system. Think smart contracts, minus the blockchain overhead. Our products are already being built and tested with real integrations: PayNotes — Programmable payments with conditional capture, milestone releases, refunds, vouchers, and partner settlement. MyOS — SaaS orchestration layer for merchants and agents. Cross-platform trust, without writing a line of Blue Language yourself. The System You’ll Own MyOS processes documents, payments, and agent interactions through a distributed, event-driven pipeline where correctness isn’t optional. State must be deterministic, ordering must be exact, and failure must be recoverable without data loss or partial writes. A bad deployment here doesn’t just cause downtime — it can silently break processing guarantees across active sessions. Understanding why that matters, and building infrastructure that prevents it, is the job. The Role You will own features end-to-end — from the React component a merchant clicks to the Lambda function that settles their transaction to the AWS infrastructure that keeps it all standing. No handoffs between "front" and "back". No waiting for someone else to unblock you. This is a high-trust, high-autonomy role. You'll work directly with the founding team, your decisions will ship to production fast, and yes — you'll be on the hook when something breaks. What You Bring Deep AWS expertise across compute, messaging, storage, networking, and observability — not just familiarity, but operational instinct built from running things in production Strong IaC discipline — CDK, SAM, or CloudFormation; you version everything, you don’t click in consoles Understanding of distributed systems fundamentals: ordering guarantees, idempotency, at-least-once delivery, outbox patterns, partial failure recovery Experience operating event-driven architectures under load — you know what failure looks like before it becomes an incident Enough application-layer literacy to read TypeScript/Node.js code and understand what a service is doing, not just that it’s running Strong opinions about observability — structured logging, distributed tracing, dashboards built for on-call humans at mam What you get? Competitive B2B compensation based on experience Equity — own a piece of what you build Fully remote work in an async-first environment Direct collaboration with the founding team High autonomy and fast decision-making Small team, outsized impact Work on technology that is genuinely novel End-to-end ownership across product, systems, and production Protocols don’t get built by committees. They get built by small teams who understood the problem before anyone else did. What You'll Do Own all AWS infrastructure end-to-end — architecture, cost, security, reliability, and compliance. No infrastructure team above you. Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines that let engineers ship confidently and fast — zero manual steps from commit to production Build monitoring and alerting that surfaces real problems early: queue depth, processing failures, latency spikes, delivery anomalies — dashboards that tell you what’s actually wrong Manage PostgreSQL at scale — configuration, connection pooling, migration strategy, performance, backup and restore Keep real-time and async processing components healthy across Lambda, SQS, Redis, S3, and the services that connect them Enforce IAM least-privilege across the system — service-to-service trust, secrets management, network isolation Manage environments (dev / staging / prod) with infrastructure parity and clean promotion paths Own cost visibility and optimization across a growing AWS footprint Use modern AI tooling to accelerate infrastructure work and experimentation Requirements We’re not looking for someone to manage servers. We’re looking for an engineer who looks at a distributed, event-driven system and immediately sees the failure modes, the ordering edge cases, and the places where a misconfigured queue will silently corrupt state. Someone who automates everything, documents why, and gets angry when something requires a manual step. 6+ years building and running production infrastructure. Deep AWS knowledge and strong operational instincts. Infrastructure as Code only — no manual steps, no console dependency. Strong distributed systems thinking: ordering, retries, idempotency, recovery. Experience with PostgreSQL, Lambda, SQS, Redis, S3, and CI/CD. Obsessed with reliability, security, visibility, and automation. Comfortable owning critical infrastructure end to end. A process that is practical, clear, and respectful of your time We keep the sequence focused so both sides can understand fit, technical quality, and the shape of the work. Introductory conversation - Up to 60 minutes - A practical conversation about your background, the kind of work you want to do next, and the context behind the role. Take-home assignment - No live coding - We prefer to evaluate technical ability through a realistic take-home task that gives you time to think and show the quality of your approach. Technical interview - Up to 90 minutes - A deeper discussion with a technical leader or senior team member about your experience, engineering judgment, and approach to the assignment. Final review - Clear feedback and a timely decision - We gather feedback, review the process carefully, and aim to communicate clearly throughout.

🏢 Summary: End-to-end full-stack engineering role focused on building and operating a protocol for structured, verifiable multi-party agreements and programmable payments. You will design, ship, and maintain production systems across frontend, backend, and AWS infrastructure with full ownership and accountability. The role emphasizes distributed systems correctness, stateful event-driven architectures, and serverless cloud infrastructure. 🗂️ Requirements: 7+ years building and shipping production full-stack systems, Strong backend expertise in Node.js and TypeScript, Strong frontend development experience with React, Deep understanding of distributed systems concepts, Experience building stateful, event-driven systems, Hands-on production experience with AWS and serverless architectures, Experience with Infrastructure as Code using AWS SAM or CloudFormation, Strong PostgreSQL experience including schema design and performance tuning, Experience designing for idempotency, auditability, and deterministic execution, Ability to debug and stabilize production systems end-to-end, Strong knowledge of observability, monitoring, and incident response, Experience making architectural decisions around security, reliability, and cost, Ability to own features end-to-end from design to production 📃 Skills: Node.js, TypeScript, React, AWS, Lambda, APIGateway, SQS, SNS, EventBridge, IAM, CloudWatch, RDS, SAM, CloudFormation, PostgreSQL, SQL, Serverless, DistributedSystems, EventDriven, Idempotency, Observability, Monitoring, Logging, Alerting, Concurrency, Consistency, Security, LLMs, API 🏢 Description: About Blue Language Labs Every generation gets one protocol moment. TCP/IP. SMTP. HTTP. A small team writes the spec, ships the first implementation, and fifteen years later the entire world runs on it without knowing who built it. We’re at that moment for economic coordination. AI agents are being deployed everywhere, right now — negotiating, committing, paying, settling on behalf of every company that wants to stay competitive. In a few years there will be billions of them. The problem: there is no protocol for what happens between them. An agent can be smart. It cannot be governed. It can pay. It cannot make a payment conditional on something that actually happened. Agents from different organizations can talk. They cannot safely coordinate across company boundaries. Nobody has built that layer. We’re building it. Blue is a protocol for structured, verifiable, multi-party agreements that execute deterministically, leave an immutable audit trail, and run on existing financial rails. Smart contracts without blockchain. Governance without a platform. Trust without a middleman. PayNotes — programmable payments with conditional capture, milestone releases, automatic refunds, and partner settlement. Logic embedded directly into money movement. MyOS — orchestration layer for merchants and agents. Agentic workflows and cross-platform trust, without touching the protocol directly. The Role You will own features end-to-end — from the React component a merchant clicks to the Lambda function that settles their transaction to the AWS infrastructure that keeps it all standing. We're looking for an engineer who gets it — who sees a distributed system and immediately starts asking the right questions about state, consistency, and failure modes. Someone who ships and takes pride in what they ship. 7+ years of experience building and shipping production systems as a full-stack engineer Strong backend expertise in Node.js and TypeScript — not just building APIs, but designing systems that stay correct under load and failure Strong frontend skills with React , including the ability to build polished, production-ready product interfaces without depending on a separate frontend team Solid understanding of distributed systems : consistency, state transitions, concurrency, retries, failure handling, and eventual consistency trade-offs Proven experience building stateful, event-driven systems where correctness matters Hands-on experience with AWS in production, especially Lambda , API Gateway, SQS/SNS, EventBridge, IAM, CloudWatch, RDS, and serverless architecture patterns Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code , ideally AWS SAM and CloudFormation Strong PostgreSQL skills, including schema design, transactions, indexing, migrations, and performance tuning Experience designing systems with idempotency, auditability, and deterministic execution built in from the start Ability to debug and stabilize production systems end-to-end — across application code, infrastructure, data, and runtime behavior Strong grasp of observability , monitoring, logging, alerting, and incident response Good judgment around security, reliability, and cloud cost , with the ability to make pragmatic architectural trade-offs Ability and willingness to own features end-to-end — from product shaping to implementation, deployment, and post-release accountability Comfortable operating in a high-trust, high-autonomy environment with very little hand-holding Strong product and engineering judgment — you ask the right questions early, and you do not need heavy process to move fast responsibly Comfortable using LLMs, coding agents, and modern AI tooling as part of your development workflow Fluent English and Polish, written and spoken Nice to have Experience in payments, fintech, ledgering, settlement, or transactional systems Experience with document workflows , approvals, or multi-party business processes Experience working on systems of record or products with strict audit/compliance expectations Experience at an early-stage startup or in a small, high-talent engineering team Experience building products where reliability and system correctness matter more than shipping surface-level features A process that is practical, clear, and respectful of your time We keep the sequence focused so both sides can understand fit, technical quality, and the shape of the work. You will work closely with a small, autonomous team shipping features every sprint using AI-assisted development tools. 🗂️ Requirements: Minimum 2 years commercial backend experience in Node.js or NestJS, Production experience designing schemas and writing database migrations, Hands-on experience building and debugging job queues, Experience integrating third-party APIs on the backend, Solid knowledge of TypeScript, Working experience with React, Practical experience with PostgreSQL, Practical experience with Redis, Experience using Docker, Use of AI development tools, Fluent English, Availability to work evening hours aligned with US (UTC-6) team 📃 Skills: Node.js, NestJS, TypeScript, React, PostgreSQL, Redis, Docker, BullMQ, TypeORM, Auth0, Swagger, Express, Fastify, ConnectWise, Autotask, Kaseya, Microsoft365, GoogleWorkspace 🏢 Description: We're The Digital Bunch, a cross-disciplinary digital consultancy with offices in Warsaw, Riyadh, Sydney, and London. We combine strategy, design, and technology to help companies grow. Software development is one of our core verticals, and we embed with product companies long-term as part of their engineering teams. This role is for our work on a cyber risk reporting platform. The product scans networks, endpoints, and cloud environments (Microsoft 365, Google Workspace), checks breach databases, and generates risk reports with an AI layer on top for analysis and recommendations. The reports are sold to MSPs in the US who use them to show clients where they stand on security. It's cyber tooling, nothing else. The platform has been live for 5+ years, was acquired last year by a larger company (100+ people), and is actively growing. New features ship every sprint. The codebase is mature but moves fast. You'd join a small team on our side: our CTO and one other developer. On the client side in Dallas there's a PM, QA, support, and two engineers, plus people from the parent company who rotate in when needed. Flat setup, a lot of independence. We write code with Cursor and Claude Code every day. Not as a gimmick, that's how we actually work. If you're already using AI tooling, good. If not, you'll pick it up in the first week. ⚠️ Read this first, this is a backend-heavy role Most of the interesting work lives on the server: job queues, third-party integrations, data modeling, async scans, report generation. The frontend matters, but it's not where you'll spend most of your time. If your experience is mostly React with some REST calls, this isn't the right role. We need someone who's actually built and owned Node/NestJS backends in production, schemas, queues, integrations, migrations, the whole thing. We're happy to consider someone with ~2 years of experience if those two years are genuinely backend-heavy. We're not happy to consider 6 years of frontend with a skills-list backend section. ⏰ Working hours, read this too The client team is in Dallas, Texas (UTC-6). You need to be available in the evenings: - Daily standups happen between 19:00–21:00 Polish time, 30–45 minutes - Monday planning runs at 23:00 Polish time - The rest of the day is yours. Most people work something like 12:00–20:00 or 14:00–21:00 - No weekends, no on-call If you can't do evenings, this isn't the right fit. Wanted to be upfront about that. 📌 The work You'll ship features across the full stack, weighted toward the backend: NestJS on the server, PostgreSQL and Redis underneath, React on the frontend. The backend integrates with 15+ external services (breach intelligence APIs, cloud provider APIs, PSA systems like ConnectWise), runs BullMQ job queues, and uses TypeORM and Auth0. There's always something new to wire up. About 10% of your time goes to triaging production issues reported by customers. That's engineering debugging, not answering support tickets. Small team means you have real input into what gets built and how. Nobody's handing you pixel-perfect Jira tickets. We ship behind feature flags, get it in front of users fast, and iterate. If you're the type who spends three weeks perfecting architecture before writing a line of code, this isn't your pace. First-day commits. Our CTO onboards you personally, but we expect you shipping from the start. 👉 What we're looking for - At least 2 years of commercial backend work in Node.js / NestJS (or a close equivalent, Express or Fastify with real production ownership). We'll ask about it. - You've designed schemas, written migrations, debugged queues, and integrated third-party APIs, not just consumed them from a frontend - Solid TypeScript and React. You don't need to be a CSS wizard, you need to be comfortable moving across the stack - Hands-on with PostgreSQL, Redis, Docker - You use AI tools for development (Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot, whatever works for you) - Fluent English, spoken and written. You're on daily video calls with Americans - Actually okay with working late Polish hours (see above) - Self-directed. Nobody assigns you tasks step by step 👍 Bonus points - Worked in cybersecurity, SOC/SIEM tooling, or compliance before - Know your way around BullMQ, TypeORM, Auth0, or Swagger codegen - Built integrations with PSA systems (ConnectWise, Autotask, Kaseya) or MSP-facing tooling - Worked with US-based teams or in product companies 🚫 Probably not for you if - Your CV lists React/Next/Tailwind projects and the backend section is a skills list with no project evidence - You've mostly consumed REST APIs, not built them - Your backend experience is a single side project or a bootcamp module - You want to spend most of your day on UI polish 🎉 What you get - 20,000–26,000 PLN net/month, B2B - Fully remote, or Warsaw office in central Warsaw (dogs welcome) - Long-term product work on a single platform, not project hopping - Latest hardware and tooling - Multisport card - Regular salary reviews - Referral bonuses 💃 Hiring process 1. Intro call with Alex (CTO). 15–30 min. We talk about the role, you ask questions, and we see if it makes sense for both sides. 2. Take-home task. Build a small full-stack app (React + NestJS). The NestJS side carries most of the weight. Capped at 2 hours. Use AI tools, we don't care how you get there, we care that it works and you understand it. 3. Live review. 60 min. You walk us through your code, we ask you to add a feature live (should take minutes with AI, not half an hour), then we talk architecture and how you think about systems. 4. Meet the client team. Short call with the Dallas side before we finalize.
