Scala Developer

📌 We are looking for Scala Developer on behalf of our client:

Contract: B2B contract

Project:

As an investment in our product and team, we are exploring options to spin up an offshore/nearshore development team for Marktplaats/2dehands. The team will focus on SEO-related development within the existing technology stack.

Short project description (Motors / SEO-GEO focus):

Development of scalable SEO page generation (brand × model × year × region). Building dynamic indexing logic based on supply thresholds. Optimizing internal linking between listings, dealer pages, and model hubs. Ensuring crawl budget efficiency and inventory freshness.

Tech stack:

• Scala

• React / Node

• AWS

• Kubernetes (K8S)

Key responsibilities:

• Build and enhance backend services using Scala

• Lead performance optimization efforts across large-scale applications and services

• Proactively research and troubleshoot technical issues impacting end-user experience

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify bottlenecks and implement solutions

• Support onboarding of new technical resources by sharing best practices and tooling

Requirements:

• Proven Scala/backend engineering experience

• Strong background in system performance tuning and scalability

• Ability to anticipate and solve complex technical issues

• Strong problem-solving mindset and curiosity to deep dive into issues

• Strong collaboration and communication skills

Nice to have:

• SEO-related experience
