Key Responsibilities

  • Executing and managing test cases and results, reporting on test and defect metrics.

  • Estimating, prioritizing, planning and coordinating testing activities.

  • Identifying, recording, documenting thoroughly and track bugs.

  • Performing thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved.

  • Designing, developing and executing automation scripts using internal automation framework and system.

  • Developing and applying testing processes for new and existing products to meet client needs.

  • Acting as a strong advocate for quality in the product development and engineering process including test tooling improvements and automation.

  • Working with engineers to determine where the bottlenecks are in the existing release process.

  • Staying up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.

  • ~8 years of hands-on manual and automated testing, or ~6 with an advanced degree.

  • Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments with rapid iteration cycles and CI/CD-driven release processes.

  • Strong proficiency in Java (primary automation language, aligned with the backend stack) and/or Python.

  • Hands-on experience designing, building, and maintaining test automation frameworks from the ground up — not just executing pre-built scripts.

  • Proven experience testing across mobile (iOS / Android) and web platforms.

  • Hands-on with UI automation tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Appium, XCUITest, or Espresso.

  • Strong API / backend testing experience — REST Assured, Postman, pytest + requests, or equivalent; including contract testing, mocking, and test data management.

  • Experience with performance and load testing tools (JMeter, k6, Gatling, or Locust) — including defining KPIs, running tests, and analyzing results.

  • Familiarity with security testing fundamentals (OWASP Top 10, XSS, CSRF, SQL injection, authentication / authorization flows).

  • Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or CircleCI).

  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) for spinning up test environments.

  • Hands-on with databases — both SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (Redis, MongoDB) — for test data validation.

  • Experience with message queues / streaming systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ) and validating asynchronous data flows.

  • Proficiency with Git and modern source control workflows.

  • Experience with test management and bug tracking tools (JIRA, TestRail, Zephyr, Xray, or equivalent) and clear bug reporting practices.

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with proven ability to partner closely with developers, product managers, and DevOps engineers in a fast-paced cross-functional environment.

  • Self-driven, problem-solving mindset — enjoys breaking things and finding the "why," not just the "what."

  • Experience working in FinTech, banking, trading, or other highly regulated environments — with awareness of security and compliance best practices.

  • Hands-on experience or strong demonstrable interest in blockchain, crypto, or Web3 products (this role reports into the Blockchain Engineering Manager). Familiarity with concepts such as wallets, transactions, gas, confirmations, smart contracts, testnets, and on-chain data validation tools (e.g., Etherscan, block explorers) is a strong plus.
