About the Project

We are looking for a Mid .NET Developer to join us on a web application project in the EdTech industry - an educational platform being delivered for our client. The product is a modern, user-facing web application aimed at an end-user audience that expects a polished, accessible experience.

Tech context

  • Backend: .NET 9 (REST API), Entity Framework 9

  • Database: PostgreSQL

  • Frontend: React 18 with TypeScript

Engagement

  • Duration: 6 months - project runs through October 2026

  • Start date: ASAP

  • Capacity: ~130-140 hours/month

  • Work mode: fully remote

  • Equipment: your own hardware

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and maintain backend services and REST APIs in .NET 9 powering the educational platform.

  • Model the domain together with the team — translate product requirements into clean, maintainable code and a sensible data model in PostgreSQL.

  • Implement and evolve the data layer using Entity Framework 9 — entities, configurations, migrations, querying, and performance tuning.

  • Design API contracts

  • Take ownership of features end-to-end — from refinement, through implementation and testing, to deployment

  • Write clean, testable code and cover it with unit and integration tests; contribute to keeping the test suite healthy and meaningful.

Technical Requirements

Required

  • 5+ years of commercial experience as a .NET Developer building production-grade backend systems.

  • Strong, hands-on experience with .NET 9 and Entity Framework Core — building REST APIs, middleware, dependency injection, configuration, background services.

  • Advanced knowledge of REST API design

  • Advanced knowledge of PostgreSQL — schema design, indexing strategies, query optimization

  • English - sufficient for written and spoken communication within the team.

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI or similar) and basic awareness of containerization (Docker).

  • Day-to-day use of coding assistant tools like Claude Code, Codex, GitHub Copilot or similar

Nice to have

  • Exposure to Azure — deploying and operating .NET services in the cloud.

  • Familiarity with the front-end stack (React + TypeScript) — enough to read FE code, debug integration issues and have productive conversations with FE engineers.

  • Previous work in EdTech or other user-facing products with strict reliability, accessibility and data-privacy requirements.
