You review User Stories for testability, prepare test plans and test scenarios, and design and execute test cases, with reporting on defects, test status and quality risks throughout. You take pride in not just finding defects, but truly understanding them, digging into the root cause, tracing where in the chain something went wrong, and critically assessing whether what you've found is in fact a defect before you report it. The work spans integration testing across our component landscape (front-office, mid-office, back-office, and integration layer), system testing, and acceptance testing, with particular attention to insurance-specific logic such as policy administration, premium calculation, and claims/pension processes. Close collaboration with our test automation engineer is part of daily practice: translating manual regression scenarios into requirements for the automated regression suite, so the test set continues to grow and mature alongside the platform. Responsibilities Reviewing User Stories and refining acceptance criteria from a testability perspective. Preparing test plans and test strategies for features and releases. Designing and executing test scenarios and test scripts, including complex test cases. Performing integration, system, and acceptance testing. Analyzing test results, providing status updates during daily stand-ups, and recording results in the test tooling ( Azure DevOps ). Preparing and maintaining regression test scenarios in close collaboration with the test automation engineer, supporting growth of the automated regression suite. Collaborating closely with developers, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and effectively resolve issues. Identifying and reporting quality risks and defects clearly and in a timely manner. Skills: At least 5 years of experience in (manual) software testing. Experience working in the insurance sector, preferably with policy administration products. Solid knowledge of test design techniques and structured test approaches (e.g. TMAP). Experience with Azure DevOps for test management and defect tracking. Able to work independently on complex problems and pick up new work quickly. Strong analytical skills and able to perform well under pressure. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Fluent in English (spoken and written).
