Senior Java Developer - Remote

Business & System Context

• Front office trading system covering Rates & Credit.

• Products: FXO, IRS, Bonds

• Normalisation is a major topic — Looking for someone who can design a database/model.

• Computer Science degree and/OR Java certification.

• Banking background preferred: understanding of what is bought/sold, trading, RFQs, execution, settlement.

• Telecoms experience is a strong bonus if banking isn’t present.

• Core focus: overall software engineering competence.

Tech & Project Environment

• Working with ION; team builds Java microservices alongside it.

• Event driven architecture, ADO pipelines, everything delivered to a high standard.

• Heavy use of AI, GitHub Copilot, ML/AI engines and collaboration with Data Scientists.

• Project is broad — a "menu" of work: greenfield, migration, and multiple streams linked directly to business needs.

• Collaboration with traders and Data Science teams producing pricing in sub milliseconds.
