THE CHALLANGE Technical Leadership Lead design and architecture for major systems or product areas across multiple teams Guide engineers in making high‑quality technical decisions and establish standards for reliability, performance, and scalability Evaluate and introduce technologies that improve system design and developer productivity System Architecture & Delivery Drive multi‑team, multi‑quarter technical initiatives from planning through execution Architect distributed, high‑availability, cloud‑native systems that operate at global scale Partner with other engineering leaders to ensure architectural alignment across the organization Cross‑Functional Collaboration Work closely with Product and Engineering Managers to shape technical roadmaps Break down complex requirements into achievable technical plans and ensure successful delivery Communicate architectural decisions clearly to technical and non‑technical stakeholders Mentorship & Influence Mentor Senior Engineers and grow emerging technical leaders Create a culture of craftsmanship, operational excellence, and continuous improvement Provide thoughtful code reviews and guide teams toward long‑term sustainability Operational Excellence Identify systemic issues affecting reliability, scalability, and performance and lead efforts to resolve them Improve team and org‑wide engineering practices, patterns, and tooling Encourage and model best practices, including AI‑assisted development workflows ABOUT YOU 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including large‑scale production systems Deep expertise in distributed systems, cloud‑native architectures, and high‑throughput services Strong architectural skills, with the ability to design for scale, reliability, and maintainability Proven ability to lead cross‑team initiatives and drive results across multiple contributors Excellent communication and collaboration skills across disciplines and leadership levels Experience mentoring Engineers Strong knowledge of one or more areas of our stack (JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, React, AWS, event‑driven architectures, SQL/NoSQL databases, GraphQL) Experience contributing to or defining engineering standards, patterns, or best practices Bonus: Experience with AWS serverless Experience designing high‑performance, real‑time data pipelines Familiarity with Apollo Federation GraphQL or large‑scale developer API ecosystems Experience building or maintaining mission‑critical systems for media, streaming, or data platforms Familiarity with using AI tools (Cursor, GitHub Copilot) in engineering workflows Primary Tech Stack: Note: The stack may vary depending on the team.
